Check the date, much longer then a month those aren't even the earliest/most recent. Quote:
You seem to hold some delusions that aren't even right about how I act, and post and some of them were right several months ago but i've changed. Those were emotionally stressful times and I came on MB to basically let off steam, I quit doing that awhile ago. If you're going to petition to my de-modment, then please don't lie about stuff like insulting new people because they don't like what I like, and half my posts being about hating zeppelin. Aside from that, go ahead and complain to the admin, complain to the others mods, make a thread with a poll and rally a gang of Crowquill haters, I don't really care. |

Because thats so much worse than going off on Jimmy Page every day of the week. And basing that on stuff that isn't even true. Such as the claim that every one of his riffs was stolen from someone. Do you really expect someone not to realise that you just made it up?
When I diss Modest Mouse, I only defend it with the fact that I hate Modest Mouse. When you diss Zeppelin, you actually have the nerve to use a bunch of half truths and completely made up crap to validate your claims. If you hate Zeppelin because you don't like their music, I could care less. But when you try to pass stuff off as fact, you should, you know, have actual facts. And the "facts" you do use are always copy and paste jobs, and are usually incorrect. I doubt you actually do any kind of research whatsoever. This is why your arguments are weak. Why I bicker with you so much I dunno, I'm essentially just yelling at a brick wall. You never use any kind of facts to back your arguments, even Urban knows how to use facts. Thats something that should be required of any poster, not just the mods. Whatever. If you respond to this, respond on PM are on a thread where its relevant. I have said enough as it is. Someone put this back on topic. Last edited by boo boo; 07-28-2007 at 01:05 AM. |

Jimmy Page stole a FEW riffs in his time, as did virtually every other great guitarist in history. But his alleged riff stealing is greatly over-exaggerated.
The vast majority of his output was his own original work, which is some of the greatest rock guitar in history. I'll bet you could poll every significant rock guitarist of Page's era, and he would make the top five of virtually every single one of them. Clapton admitted years ago that he stole the main riff in "Layla", but you don't see people whining and carrying on about that the way they do with Page. Page may not be the greatest, but he's bloody sure in the top five.

I'm tired of being so f*cking afraid of just saying the word "Jimmy Page" on this forum, because its practically impossible to do so without Ethan intentionally starting crap for the sake of starting crap. All I did was make a list of who I consider to be the greatest guitarists, and this is what happens.

If I want to defend Page, I will. And I could care less if I'm criticized or ridiculed for doing so. ![]()
