Your Picks for Worst Band ReUnion/Reforming Ever...
I'm only gonna put up a couple 4now b/c I'm going to bed but have wanted to put this up for a while. If its been done, then sorry, I'm too damn lazy to bother looking.
-The Beach Boys -GnR -Simon and Garfunkle (that was more for jokes) -Motley Crue (in the workings still, correct?) -INXS, hearing Pretty Vegas with the new lead, is eery... Not very thoughtful, but I'm too tired to care |

EDIT: Oh wait, i thought you meant worst bands period... Sorry for that, i have a tendacy to jump to conclusions before i even finish reading the sentence. >_> |
The Doors
|
Okay... I'm perfectly willing to defend my choices, but not now b/c I'm trying to get to bed. I'll have to come back to this later. I'm really waiting to see who tries to defend Motley Crue (hee, hee). However, you have not listed any bands, what are your choices?
|
God, Jim Morrison was a real f*ckn prick, eh?? I don't know why, but I picture the Will Ferrell "more cowbell" thing when I think of Morrison, all fat, hairy and bloated. Damn, I have no self-discipline!! Goodnight, whoever reads this :)

The Doors with Ian Astbury or Eddie Vedder , wrong on so many levels.
Echo & The Bunnymen recorded an album without Ian McCulloch which they don`t even recognise anymore. The Stone Roses without John Squire & Reni at the Reading festival in 1995 or 96 (I think) were awful and thankfully the band split shortly afterwards. Every single line up of Black Sabbath without Ozzy or Dio |

What a load of f*cking crap. |

Van Halen with that douche Gary Cherone from Extreme
Motley Crue with that douche John Corabi |

Ozzy was crap in Sabbath. |
Yeah, Sabbath were still good when Ozzy left and Dio was a better singer IMO.
|
Oh yeah....
Deep Purple with Joe Satriani :( |
Quote:
And i don't give a crap if Dio is a better singer or not.... That has nothing to do with the quality of the music... With similar logic Journey would be better than The Clash. Also Ozzy's voice gave the band a unique draw and sound, with Ozzy Black Sabbath sounded like Black Sabbath, with Dio Black Sabbath sounded like every other metal band in existance. |

Genesis ever since Steve Hackett left.

And if the singer has nothing to do with the quality of the music, as you say then why are you defending my statement? |
I said "the skill of the singer" has nothing to do with the quality of music, and i disagree with you completely, how is Ozzy crap?... Because he's not a opera singer?... There are way more important things than skill, Black Sabbath are not like every other metal band, technical skill is not what made them who they were.... Ozzy's voice suited the band perfectly... When Dio joined, the band disolved into the standard "been there done that" heavy metal band, complete with overbearing falesto wails and unnecessary shred solos.
|
I`m biased when it comes to Dio in Sabbath because Heaven & Hell and Live Evil were 2 of the first ever metal albums I ever heard.
I didn`t even know Ozzy was in Sabbath at that point. |
Ironically, i am biased against Dio.
I hate him for 5 reasons. 1. Hear 'n Aid. 2. Rainbow. 3. His solo career. 4. Joining Black Sabbath. 5. Hear 'n Aid again. |
1. I liked Rainbow :(
2. Yeah point taken 3. You hate midgets? Edit Dammit stop editing |
No i don't hate Midgets, i'm a Bjork fan am i?

All this talk of Dio has reminded me of this post http://www.musicbanter.com/showpost....7&postcount=10 |
Ozzy era Sabbath had it's low points, but their first 4 albums more than made up for it.
And i'd take them over Heaven And Hell any day of the week. |

Heaven And Hell was the first metal/hard rock album I ever bought and it never wears thin on me. PS Stop editing your bloody posts. |
Sorry, i have grammar OCD.

I quite like Rainbow |
Well anyway.
Yes when Steve Howe left, they managed to churn out one decent album (90125) and that was it... Essentially from that point they weren't Yes anymore. Queen with Paul Rodgers, need i say more? Van Halen with Gary Cherone, not that Sammy Hagar was all the great either but at least Van Hagar had it's moments, Van Cherone is just Van Crap, plain and simple. Lynyrd Skynyrd after Ronnie died, ok, they weren't bad, but from that point they simply should have just quit and went their seperate ways, Ronnie was the heart and soul of the band. Jefferson Airplane when they somehow manifested themselves into the crapheap that we all know as Starship, who have inspired many people to dismiss the bands great musical legacy as crap simply because of one song, which may very well be the worst song ever made. Chicago post Terry Kath. |
Motley Crue has already got back together and have since moved on. Not so sure that everyone would agree that they would be the worst band to reunite...their recent tour produced sold out venues everywhere. Could have just been a lot of fans hoping to relive the Motley Crue days.

Motley Crues reunion show was packed with people that were there for exactly that reason, they played all of their old favorites....but none of them really had the energy to perform them well. I swear i could see oxygen tanks just off the stage for Vince when his fat ass got out of breath in the middle of every song.. |
Debbie Harry proved how lame it was remaking Blondie without the original members at the Hall of Fame ceremony
|
the new Kiss with the 'stand-in's being the original Ace & Peter and one was a roadie at one time, no less
|
Lick It Up, Lick It Up, Ohhhhhhhhhhhh oh oh.

well that was 80's era Kiss for the most part, bunk, too :) |
