I fucking hate Ted Nugent. He is such a cold-blooded animal murderer, he deserves to be shot. I hope he will be, fucking wanker.

Aside from that, why does all this **** about a song really matter? It makes no difference if Dimebag is dead or alive, anyway how can a dead body be offended? Madness.

well, I don't think such comments are fair to Dimes family or his fans. Dime never said anything negative about Ted that I can recall. Quite the opposite, he praised Ted as a player and Panteras cover was a tribute to Ted, it wasnt meant to be competition. It was simply Dime and the boys paying Tribute to the motor city madman because they respected him. You'd think Ted would be flattered. What happened to if you dont have anything nice to say, keep your mouth shut?? Is Ted Sinnead O'Conner without tits?>?>?> What next, is he gonna tear up a picture of Ozzy?(Another legend Ted has condemned)

I just think Ted's insinuations of Dime being anti-family value or how he's friends of allahkillers, or suggesting Dime's a low human being is not only ignorant and in bad taste, but it's untrue.

He's entitled to express his opinion, and fair enough.
But, how seriously can ya take a guy who prances around the stage in a loin-cloth? LOL

Ah yeah I guess that is true, and to be honest I was pissed off when I read this, and I would have been whether it was Ted or not. Dime rules.

It's not even about the song, it's the principal of abusing a respected dead man's name.

I dont mind Ted, I just think his comments made on his web forum about Dime were in bad taste. I dont think he needs to run dime down to make his point. I think it was in bad taste, and if Dime was talking **** about Nuge while Nuge was 6 feet under, I'd call him an ******* for it too. But Dime wasnt like that. Dime would spend hours talking about favorite guitarists.

Ted has called Cobain a loser who he's glad is dead, hes run down Dimebag, and yet Damn Yankees has got to be the worst **** music this side of Cobain or Dimebag, LOL

I never said Ted wasn't a douchebag, he most certainly is, i didn't even know that he said that about Cobain, but now that i know, it lowers my opinion of him even more... Dimebag and Cobain were both twice the songwriters Nugent could ever be as far as i'm concerned.

Point is, when you went on about how KISS were the greatest live act in the world or whatever, the first person you quoted was Ted Nugent, now you're saying his opinion dosen't matter????..... Give me a break.

Also, "guitar based" music?... That's not a genre, if it was, it would make metal, punk, blues and flamenco the same thing.

In the grande scheme of things, "guitar based music" is the genre I listen to since I study Jazz, Classical, Flamenco, Country, Blues and rock/metal guitarists. So guitar based music to me is essentially that - guitar based music. But I was speaking in general terms since I dont really subscribe to genres or categories. I've been playing guitar for over 20 years and play intricate music like Racer X, or Dream Theater and things of that nature, so guitar based music is all Im into. And incidentally, like myself, both these bands are KISS fans. Paul Gilbert and Mike Portney are both huge KISS fans. Is this a crime??? You imply listening to KISS means you have no appreciation for good music??!

I'm saying Ted's opinion on drugs or booze doesnt matter to me. Niether does Gene Simmons opinion, for that matter. And I don't really think Ted's opinion of booze or drugs needs to be expressed by putting down Cobain and saying he's better off dead, and now eqauting Dime with allah, and yapping about anti-family values, or whatever. It just makes him sound ridiculous.

And who is even babbling about KISS? you've already mentioned them two or threee times in this thread?? get over it, dude. And I didnt put much wieght on Ted's opinion of KISS to begin with, so your point is moot. KISS is just a live show to be enjoyed, thats all.

^before you said you don't really listen to bands you only listen genres and now you say you don't really listen to genres. Er, whatever. Bass driven owns anyway.

I can't believe there's 8 pages on this. Ted's dumb and I honestly don't care what he thinks.

You have me confused with someone else. I didn't say that.
I only listen to guitar/bass/drums/vocals style music primarily. Is that a genre now?

No that's not a genre. That's a line up. Genres are based on style not instruments.

that's nice.
who cares?

I'm not trying to redefine the word 'genre,' dikkmonkey.
I merely said I listen to "Guitar based Music" - if that's a "genre" or not, I could care less, LOL
It's more a "criteria" to me when deciding what I want to hear. And in a broad sense, it best describes what I listen to. Guitar based music - be it jazz, classical or metal.

I'll let someone who cares, argue with you about what the word 'genre' means.
They told me you were as sharp as a football, but Im begining to think that's an understatement.
