Chevelle members (all brothers) are big tool fans and thats where some of there influences come from. The only way there like tool is sometimes in the lyrics and every now and again in the sound in the first two albums.. now there sound has changed.

Don't be foolish, if I had posted it, his repsonce would have been all asterics.

And thanks Hobo, I don't mind the pairing. Are you saying we're muscially intelligent or just vicious on the come back?

hiu 05-25-2006 09:20 PM

Lol. Musicially intelligent eh. That's an interesting remark.

Some people also suffer from fetal alcohol syndrome.

I'd say there's a good chance that we're talking about the same people here.

Well you 2 have a certain 'internet respect' on these forums, if that's possible. And you're vicous on the comeback, which helps.

Yeah, plus he shouldn't be listening to the kinds of music I listen to!!! Except for maybe B.B. King, Heart, The BeeGees and Benny Goodman...lol.There ya go. Maybe Aerosmith would work too...
...as in "love song" Aerosmith, not dirty rock and roll classic Aerosmith...lol!!!

No way in hell do those 2 bands sound similar...lol!!! Honestly, I like, listen to and have albums by both Tool and Chevelle, but I'd be damned if I put Chevelle in the same class/greatness as Tool!!!Tool is so much better and the musicians of Tool are some of the best out there, ya hear?Ever heard of Adam Jones, Maynard, Danny Carey?Yes, those musicians have made a name for themselves and I can remember their names just like that. When talking about Chevelle, I gotta ask what their names are.Aren't like 2 of them brothers?I can't remember, but my point is that I like Chevelle and think that they are a good band, yet simply no where near to being a great band like Tool is and has been for many, many years, period!!!

Decoy 05-26-2006 07:50 PM

he might like the number 12 looks like you

littleknowitall 05-27-2006 09:35 AM

between me and my bros younger friends shoving music down my bro's throat he's currently torn between dragonforce and dj sammy, bless him.

Leftovermelody 10-08-2006 03:43 PM

From the flow of the Thread im probobly going a different path. im more of an acoustic guy.

I do think he should be free about music choice. but just based on what i define and layed back "good" music.

Dave Matthews- crash album
Dispatch
Jack johnson- on and on
damien rice- O

or, if you want something alittle harder, im still a Staind fan. Break the cycle would be a good cd to be introduced to them, IMO. anywho, goodluck i think.

cardboard adolescent 10-08-2006 03:55 PM

Since he doesn't like pop, and he wants to be cool, I recommend you introduce him to the most extreme music out there. He'll hate it, but he'll be able to show up all his friends. Bands like:

Napalm Death
Merzbow
Zeni Geva
Godflesh
Arabs on Radar
KK Null
The Boredoms
Throbbing Gristle
etc.

Exactly!Otherwise we are all just giving an opinion of what bands we like.If you wanna do that, let him listen to Strapping Young Lad, W.A.S.P., Opeth, Rage Against The Machine and Tool. That'll wake him up!

Alo 10-09-2006 07:50 AM

I have three little brothers. They constantly steal my cds. So just don't get you brother into the same music as you, it's better for your music collection... :D

Urban Hat€monger ? 10-09-2006 10:49 AM

Is there really any point in suggesting music for someone who`s related to a person who doesn`t even post here anymore?

Nahhh
