My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

Yeah I'll admit it, this is a pretty ****ing good album all things considered.

Autolux - Demonstration EP

I couldn't find artwork for this, but oh well thems the breaks. It's pretty much the exact same as their debut LP, which isn't a bad thing, but does very little to assuage my impatience for their new album... which was suppose to come out in January

Burning Airlines - Mission: Controll

Didn't even come close to The Egg by Shiner but was good in it's own way, I think I'll give it another listen and if it fails to enthrall me I'll probably toss it.

According to the Grammys, "visual appeal" is acceptable criteria for deciding the merit of music.

I like this a lot. I have a couple of Shiner albums that I never really got into (Splay and Starless). Perhaps it's time to dig them up one of these days, or just check out The Egg instead.

Jimi Hendrix - Valleys of Neptune (2010)

Although not the legendary Hendrix goldmine the media is hyping it up to be, it's still finger-lickin' good on the ears.

Yes - 90125 [Expanded/Remastered] (1983)

An album I used to think was pretty meh before I realized how intricate it really is; even if they aren't being proggers, this still has a lot of Yessy qualities, and in terms of pop sensibility, 80's guitar aside, I think it holds up well today.

Joanna Newsom - Ys (2006)

Finding her 3rd album that came out this year rather charming, I backtracked four years and picked this up. A far cry from what most Indiefags listen to, and wonderfully evocative of Joni Mitchell and Renaissance back in prog. rock's golden days while still retaining a certain modern charm. Really, I wish I had picked this up a lonnnnnnng time ago.

Baroness/Unpersons "A Grey Sigh In A Flower Husk"

Been wanting to check out Baroness for a while, and Unpersons sounded interesting enough, so I thought I'd give this split a spin.

Wow, is this new-ish?

Alfred 03-07-2010 10:22 AM

It is from 2007. I guess that depends on your definition of new, haha.

Oh, and it was really good.
