I usually can't stand pop punk, but I wiki'd it.. I liked the album length and the album art. I'm into it, I really like it. No problem with the vocals either, and a lot of the times for me that can be a bands down fall, if I can't stand their voice/believe what they're singing I'll shy away. I'm also more into Modest Mouse as well. Dug out Good News For People Who Love Bad News for the first time in a while, can't stop listening to it. So I decided to get The Moon & Antarctica.. Dunno how that'll measure up but I hope it'll be as good as/better. Fingers crossed :D

Well, if you haven't already checked it out you should let Lonesome Crowded West sink in... ;)

I was either gonna get The Moon & Antarctica or that one. I opted for The Moon & Antarctica. More appealing album length I think was my reason. I checked the ratings on RYM and I think The Moon was slightly better than Lonesome Crowded West..

You and your album length.

Give BOTH of them a chance and let me know which one you like better. Then we will know just how similar our tastes are...

your album length**

Biggest pet peeve, your and you're being mixed up. :(

I will definitely give them both a listen, I might dislike both initially. It takes a while for an album to sink in

Well that sucks to hear. Like you, I don't like overly long albums. Even if they just feel long but aren't.

I had a bit of a problem with the vocals when I first heard them. A bit nasally, and a style more associated with indie than pop punk (I feel the music is where pop punk comes in). But I really like their last one and this one. I've tried Fuckin-A but haven't gotten into it. I think part of it is that he never seems to shut up, which can get old. The last album was a good length though, at about 35 minutes. For an album with a steady pace and a band with nearly constant vocals, that's about perfect.

I think Farms was quite long for an album, bit of a shame because they do have some good songs there. They're just overdone.

I didn't know about this band until recently, Violent & Funky mentioned the album and I decided to give it a try, not really heard the others to cast a vote. Only heard Fuckin-A once. But The Body.. was instant with me, really liked it. I thought the vocals fit the music really well but that's just me. I do agree with the 'Indie' voice, but I felt it mixed the pop punk and Indie well.. Albums between 30 and 40 minutes are what I look for. Vampire Weekend's debut was like 30 minutes, straight to the point and I like that. :D

Good garage rock. Seems as if I can relate this album to a handful of similar artists. Definitely not something I haven't heard before.
Edit: .... Oh wow, just gazed at his bio on wikipedia.... I did not know he passed away earlier this year.:(

Good all around album. Pike's gnarled vocals, and his phenomenal guitar work are greatly enhanced by the drummer and the bassist throughout the album.
High on fire proves once again that combining various stratospheres of the metal world into one album, and even one song, proves that they can appeal to multiple genres. 4/5 in my opinion.

Sad Lovers and Giants - Feeding The Flame

One of my favourite Post Punk bands but these have a much more melodic edge than many of their U.K counterparts. If you like The Chameleons then you would certainly like these.
