Lol, same reason I never bothered with R.E.M. until 3-4 years ago. I knew they had some good songs but I hated "Shiny Happy People" and "Losing My Religion". To this day I still haven't heard that album (I've heard everything else up to and including New Adventures in Hi-Fi).

Bettye Lavette has hit out of the park with this one. She has made songs like The Beatles "The Word' and Pink Floyds "Wish You Were Here" her own, not to mention it has her stellar rendition of The Who's "Love Reign O'er Me" from The Kennedy Center Honors. Awesome!
