I took a break from Local Natives, and listened to Lana Del Rey's 'Paradise' today.

She's quite mesmerizing. I WILL be purchasing the album.

Imagine a wholesale rip off of Prince's Dirty Mind era stuff and you wouldn't be far off.

Oh and he also covers I Heard it Through The Grapevine in that style ... twice.

I quite like it.

'Do It Roger' is a highlight, that's included twice too.

i tend to rate stuff in the heat of the moment....but i'd still say at least a 4-4.5 for this album :)....i mean the name alone gets 2

I downloaded the Art Ensemble of Chicago's Coming Home Jamaica today.

It was a decent album that dragged a little, but I'll have to give it a second listen.

I haven't heard that one yet, how does it compare to their version of Ascension?

Their lead singer should get 0.5 just for being a militant gay man in some pretty hostile anti-gay crowds.

I didn't know they had a cover of Ascension. Their discography's a little hit and miss overall, but I would recommend it. You've heard Les stances a Sophie thought, right?
