Earthless - From the Ages (2013)

New album from San Diego instrumental heavy psych power trio "Earthless."
Four songs clocking in at just over 65 minutes for those of you who like loud, blistering heavy psych jamming (and great album cover art!)

Came over to my parents house and my dad found something at my late grandmothers house. It's one of the coolest vinyl records I have now and I'm getting it framed and putting it on my living room wall:

This is by far one of the coolest things I've ever gotten that's related to Star Wars.

-In case you weren't aware, i'm a humongous Star Wars nerd-

"Bastards Banquet" a Rolling Stones bootleg of studio outtakes from 1968-69, mostly from the "Beggars Banquet" recording sessions. Excellent sound quality throughout.

Been listening to some Rihanna albums lately and enjoying them somewhat. Some brilliant stand out tracks (generally singles).

Salamander - Red Mantra (1998)

I heard this band a long time ago and got the impression it was some kind of neofolk, but nope. Except for the first song, "Earthbound Animal" (which is a bit neofolky), this is actually some delightful psych. I don't know what to call it, maybe neo-psychedelia, with some folk, space-rock. The band this music reminds me of is Bardo Pond, at least in this album and the first one Red Ampersand from 1997. That album has an even more dense sound.

Actually, I wasn't so off with neofolk. The third album I'm listening right now - Birds of Appetite (2001?) has a distinctively dark psychedelic folk quality, is more mellow and ethereal. Very good so far. It looks I'll be listening to this band a lot.

Strand Of Oaks - Pope Killdragon

I go back and give this album a listen every 5 to 6 months or so and it sounds just as amazing as the first time I heard it. He's a phenomenal storyteller and this album has the saddest and greatest song about Dan Aykroyd ever on it.

Another must-have bootleg for Rolling Stones fans. A 2-disc set of studio outtakes from 1968-1972, with the majority of tracks from '68-'70. Sound quality is superb!

Tim Hecker - Virgins (2013)

I absolutely adored his 2011 album Ravedeath 1972 and from everything I've read on this it's suppose to be just as good. Can't wait to give it a spin.

Shpongle - Museum of Consciousness (2013)

I can't believe I missed this back in late July. Better late than never, although I do wish I had some drugs to go with it.
