I don't wanna be that guy... but Mark E. Smith isn't Scottish. Though from a few listens on youtube, his vocals have a similar vibe and I definitely get the comparisons. Checking it out.

Devin Townsend - Z2 (2014) I wasn't aware that this was a double album. Not sure if this is the final mixed copy or not, I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Either way I'm enjoying it quite a bit, far more than Epicloud (2012). |

From Gardens where we Feel Secure by Virginia Astley beautiful piano-lead ambient. and.. some goats/sheep?? |
Aside from two I mentioned in the recent purchase/download thread today:
http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/c537967c4ed...a5/1970623.jpg The Landau Orchestra - Janus Plays Telephone (2006) Beautiful album, I don't know how to categorize it really. The group's first one, then known simply as Landau, was a mellow IDM affair. Here, there are horns and other live instruments, giving it more of a downtempo/new jazz feel. It's really good. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/c9a4863d606...ac/1797527.jpg Amon Tobin - Foley Room (2007) I knew of Amon Tobin several years before, but it wasn't until this album that I took the time to listen to anything on my own. I don't know why, I was into many other electronic artists way before, and I had a roommate that was very into him. Maybe what I heard felt too cinematic, too precise, too...something. Anyway, I really like this one and identify with it the most. It's the first time he used his own field recordings to compose his music as opposed to record sampling. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/72135c67b0a...86/2406018.jpg Deerhunter - Cryptograms (2007) For the most part I just can't get into this album. I find myself enjoying the occasional song, but it does nothing for me otherwise. I've tried my fair share at this point. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/8ca689f8479...36/2034219.jpg The Tuss - Confederation Trough EP (2007) http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/8a30322bef7...fe/2394466.jpg The Tuss - Rushup Edge [EP] (2007) If this was one LP instead of two EPs released a few months apart, it would be in my top 10 albums list for 2007. Top notch stuff from this Aphex Twin alias, Some crazy synth work that brings out the Aphex fanboy in me by saying "it could only be him", and I'm not one to stay such things. I particularly like the tracks on Rushup Edge. Syro is nice but tame in comparison to this. http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/c3371a27a2e...a8/5378063.jpg Flying Lotus - You're Dead! (2004) I much prefer the second half of this album. In the first, there's just too much going on, then he takes it down a notch and it becomes more enjoyable. |

Stromae—Racine Carrée Got into this a month or so ago and still haven't stopped listening. Terrific euro-afro-latin hip-hop pop music. |
