Hahha. Classic. The whole of my secondary school life was filled out by the three of us quoting random bits from that album. Last christmas, we sent each other cards, and we all (without knowing) put "Santa Claus is gonna come rape yer dogs and **** under all yer trees!!" in the cards... Crazy.

Yeah, we really were the coolest kids on the block  Good album though .. Yes, I like Blink, so shoot me bitches.

Oh I can't comment as I've only played it twice so far. The reason I got it was that all 3 of those cd's came in a triple pack for 18 buks. Which over here is like getting 3 cds for the price of one. So I though score and bought it.

What don't you like about it?

Well when it came out it was supposed to be this big return to form after the mid 80s pop metal of the Turbo album (which I didn`t think was actually that bad to be honest but loads of long time fans hated it), but it wasn`t & basically flopped.I think the problem was they run out of ideas , they`d been using the same production team & the same studio for about 6 or 7 albums & it just sounded like a poorer version of what they`d done before.
I own everything Judas Priest did from 1975-1991 , I had about 4 or 5 albums on vinyl including this one. It was the only one I didn`t bother replacing on CD (even their debut album & nobody owns that).

I think another problem was that this was their current album when I got into the band around 89/90 so this was the first Priest album I bought & I just remember thinking it was crap compared to the little of their old stuff i`d heard & wished i`d bought one of the other 2 albums you mentioned instead.

But i`d say if you are going to buy it at least it was a part of a collection with 2 of the greatest metal albums of the 80s.So you got your moneys worth ;)

Sabgoat 12-31-2005 06:12 PM

judas priest are wicked cool.. i don't agree with alot of things i read about the
album.. I personally think its great. voice hasn't changed.. and the lyrics are still amazing as ever.. i don't think the album should of flopped its still great, and if any one is a true fan they would love this album, it may not be the greatest priest album but its still worth listening to over and over.. its a amazing album.. i think everyone who is a priest fan but thinks this album sucks, should lay day and just listen to the whole album first song to last and just really listen to it, cause its f**king great!

No , a true fan would point out it`s faults & come up with constructive criticism.
Which must have worked because they DID change things around & released Painkiller, one of their most successful & popular albums.

Sabgoat 01-01-2006 10:17 AM

yes but when listening to the album. gold or not its still amazing.. the lyrics are amazing.. i'm not the biggest priest fan in thw orld, but i am in fact a fan and i have a lot of there music, and i know its almost completely different so soft, and well took me and while to warm up to the album. but once taken the time to really listen to it and just get into the feeling of the record its great..

Hey man, who care's if "PainKiller" was successful or not?I'd say it's one of their best either way...It's raw, dark and heavy all at once, period!!!;)

judas_priest 01-04-2006 03:58 PM

^Painkiller is a great album.

My latest Cds are Youthanasia by Megadeth and Dream Theater- Train Of Thought. They're both really good.

And it wouldn`t have happened if Ram It Down hadn`t bombed so badly , thus proving my point.
