Dog Fashion Disco - Adultery

A friend of mine found out that I had never even heard of this band, so he uploaded the album and sent it to me. Apparently this is the "shizz" in terms of avant-garde metal.

and I have one of their albums in my 50 albums to bang your head to tssk. Although it is certainly not the be all and end all of Avant Garde metal. It's far too damn groovy for that! Great band though. The church organ is inspired.

Scientist -Rrids the world of the evil curse of the vampires

Some really cool dub. Prefer this To East Of The Nile River by Augustus Pablo, which I also got recently.

Carcass - Symphonies Of Sickness

Grind/Goregrind/Death Metal legends right here. Wake Up And Smell The Carcass DVD to go with it, beautiful.

^ To tell you the truth, I only got this for the Most Beautiful Girl In the World, so don't exactly have any expectations for the album itself.

^ And some acoustic folk rock here. Again, no real expectations, seeing as I picked this out at random on this awesome new blog I've found.

In Mourning - Monolith

First new metal album of 2010 for me and I have to say it's quite a pleasant surprise. Very good progressive melodic death, however I'm not sold on the more clean vocals, they're a tad too whiny for my taste, but the death vocals are pretty impressive.

Finished raiding the hard drive. Much the same music as mine thanks to excessive swapping down the years, but obtained the two most recent Dinosaur Jr. albums, Billy Bragg's Talking With The Taxman About Poetry and these little beauties
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...an-tindrum.jpg
Japan-Tin Drum
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...eyDigMeOut.jpg
Dig Me Out-Sleater Kinney
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...st-atliens.jpg
OutKast-ATliens
So a lot of gaps plugged for artists I know and enjoy but wasn't fully familiar with, albums I've wanted to check out for a while, and some stuff I knew I'd like to the point of not getting around to getting it.A rewarding raid.

What did you think of Billy Bragg? I really liked him on Mermaid Avenue and Vol. 2, but I never followed up on his solo career. Is it worth it?

Sufjan Stevens-Greetings from Michigan: The Great Lake State

Again, rather different from his previous work. Definitely more folk-oriented. This time there's actually singing. I can tell it's an album that will grow on me.

Good call with Sleater-Kinney - great little razor-sharp punk album there. Must remember to give it a spin again sometime.
