Hardcore Dancing/Moshing

What are your opinons on it?
I personally like dancing and moshing at shows, however I hate it when kids are *******s and intentionally start fights with kids who arent dancing. I mean some people try to just watch the show and they should be allowed to
what do you think about it?

sleepy jack 07-31-2006 10:43 AM

Kids whos start fights at shows should get their ass kicked. I'm fine with dancing/moshing/etc as long as it doesn't get violent.

Trauma 07-31-2006 10:47 AM

What do I think?

I think Ian lays down the law with this ****

Personally, I'm with Ethan, except for circle pits, when you get bruised sometimes.

Muzak 07-31-2006 12:26 PM

Hardcore dance seems rather odd since you look like you are fighting with someone who isn't there. I usually don't like moshing because 1. I'd rather enjoy the music, 2. I'm pretty scrawny.:o:

swim 07-31-2006 12:35 PM

At some point it becomes rediculous but if you're not running into me I really don't mind.

metaliger 07-31-2006 05:13 PM

I don't like it when people just randomly run around pushing eachother, it looks dumb, mostly only happens at underground gigs or indoor venues though.

Sound Devastation 08-01-2006 04:07 AM

it all depends on the music.. go to a hardcore show and you expect some crowd movement, but i saw Isis the other week and people started moshing... that pissed me off!

MURDER JUNKIE 08-01-2006 04:10 AM

I think it is stupid, however I'm old and I detest moshing as well

IndiElectronica 08-01-2006 04:11 AM

Am more than happy for people to have fun, so long as they aren't purposely violent.

I'm a bit old for it now and move out the way these days... haven't crowd surfed for over 10 years as well... at a Melvins Concert where I was dropped and landed on my tailbone against the cement floor...

MURDER JUNKIE 08-01-2006 04:22 AM

My problem with it is as follows:

I don't understand why these people have to do this at the front of the stage when they aren't even watching the band, I pay to watch a band and I have to stand back 50 feet so I don't get my beer spilt all over me by somebody who appears to be in the midst of an epileptic fit. Could this not be done in the rear of the venue just as easily???

adidasss 08-01-2006 04:37 AM

i think the logic behind that is that the biggest and most hard core fans are willing to go to the front to see the band ( and going to the front usually involves standing there for hours clinched like a sardine )...others are satisfied with seeing the band from a nice distance and enjoying the music whilst having a bit of space...

at some concerts, moshing goes on in the back too...

Piss Me Off 08-01-2006 10:24 AM

I'm happy in the middle, i don't feel i need to see the band just as long as i have plenty of room to dance without any trouble.

Alo 08-01-2006 10:27 AM

People up here do it sometimes. But it ususally happens within a circle, and as long as you stay in the arms of an o-so-strong boyfriend you won't get bruised or hurt. I can understand why people would like to mosh, and they are there to enjoy the show, so I respect that they want to do it their way.

Decoy 08-02-2006 12:28 PM

It's all in good fun

Pappy GaNuga 11-28-2006 01:01 AM

It should be all about the Fun & Less about the Violent Tendencies, ya know.

Getcha Mosh Dance On People's !!!

effervescence 11-28-2006 03:47 AM

I'm cool with it too. Not had too many experiences with the push-you-about petty thugs who just go along to act like total ringpieces and bash into anyone they see... last gig that happened to me was Placebo. Ugh, their fans were enough to put me off that band for life.

DontRunMeOver 11-28-2006 04:09 AM

I'm down with the physical violence side of moshing... but the poor personal hygiene of many moshers makes me stay away.

I do not want THEIR diseased, acrid sweat in MY beautiful eyes.

Alo 11-28-2006 05:22 AM

I went to a show by the Guillemots the other day. They actually tried to start a pit there. Idiots. I got punched in the face at the same venue once too.

michellex666 11-28-2006 05:47 AM

moshing and hardcore dancing is all in good fun. I like watching the fans two step and stuff. it looks dumb, but when you see people hardcore dancing, they're having the time of their life so thats pretty cool.

The Dave 11-28-2006 08:21 AM

Whenever a circle pit starts, I trip someone in it lol. Hardcore dancing is fine so long as you don't do it in the very front, that is my spot, I want to see the band, get out of my way. Regular moshing is fun, i'm like slightly below average weight but I can lay some people down when I mosh.

beat yr own KID 11-28-2006 11:57 AM

If yr at a metal or hardcore show, the last thing you should worry about is looking stupid. Almost everyone knows how dumb it looks but it's fun times. And to the people who trip up people in a circle pit, DIE IN A FIRE!!!

We probably will, because that's how the most hardcore people go. Tripping moshers up is the musical equivalent of a two-footed tackle. Only for the Vinnie Jones of this world.

right-track 11-28-2006 03:49 PM

Hahaha...buuuurrrn.

Not you DRMO.

DontRunMeOver 11-28-2006 03:50 PM

Huh? Did I make a funny?

right-track 11-28-2006 03:57 PM

Ignore me...I don't know whats going on.

Trauma 11-28-2006 08:55 PM

That's what she said.

Fuck people who be trippin'.

michellex666 11-29-2006 06:01 AM

lol, i guess tripping can be all in good fun too.

The harcore kids go crazy at their shows here, they punch each other in the face and stuff. The metal heads are more laid back. Like if someone fell in a pit during a metal band performance, they help each other up. The hardcore kids run over and kick you in the face.

Alo 11-29-2006 06:41 AM

^ In Holland this does not happen, people are much more relaxed here I guess. Only if there are British at a venue the moshing get's THAT mean.

They are not hardcore kids. They're trendy ***gots and tough guys who are unloved by everyone who isn't in their testosterone-fueled, machismo gang.

Fight them.

The order of awesomeness is:

Two step/circle pit

oh wait, it ends there.

Trauma 11-29-2006 06:55 PM

^

I concur.

Fuk sum foos doin' ninja fighting@invisible people.

~nutshell~ 12-01-2006 06:31 PM

I don't mind some ninja moves in the pit, I mean that's what it's for...as long as you're *dancing*, essentailly, and not just trying to kick the **** out of people. I hate it when you realize that a bunch of guys in the pit are all drunk violent *******s just there to hit people...grrr, that **** pisses me off

Desired_Moments 12-03-2006 02:31 PM

Personally, I don't like moshing simple because it ends up in fights. I love dancing though. 'shake your bootay'

swim 12-03-2006 03:35 PM

It's funny when there's a kid right beside the mosh that doesn't want to be in it and people will run into him and he'll push em off and they push him back.

Desired_Moments 12-03-2006 03:36 PM

:O cruel.

At concerts when I just wanna watch the band, i'm always that kid :(

[MERIT] 12-03-2006 03:37 PM

I had a bad mosh experience where everyone was bouncing around in a big circle and someone slipped. I offered him a hand up and he decided to grab my balls to pull himself up. He then decided to go home with a broken nose.

Desired_Moments 12-03-2006 03:38 PM

*snickers* Someone stood on my head once :(

[MERIT] 12-03-2006 03:40 PM

I usually dont mind shoving/getting shoved/etc until people spill theie beer on me, then I tend to get pissed.

sleepy jack 12-03-2006 03:41 PM

Christ, I got beer spilled on me at a blood brothers show. I came home and got hardcore yelled at.

It didn't help I smelled like pot still either.
