Yeah, but most metal fans that aren't casual listeners consider them numetal as well as numetal fans as well as music nerds. This is legit the first time I've seen somebody object to them being called numetal.

So it's not the same as genre ignorance like Mindful calling elph Emo or people saying hip hop is just about guns drugs and women.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.

while I DO know what is nu metal.
Bro do you have any idea how many internet articles on metal sub-genres I've read? Like, a lot. More than you certainly.

I didn't argue on Rob Zombie not being nu metal. Him and Manson are just artists I associate with the genre but Slipknot is definitely nu metal.
They might be more nu metal than I realize but it would be more of a nu metal influence than being straight up nu metal.

That's cause nu metal fans are knuckledragging losers who nobody wants to talk to and everyone else doesn't care enough to spend their free time arguing about garbage.

I doubt you're reading articles on nu metal. Actually, I know you aren't because you didn't know that industrial was a key genre influence for nu metal. Which should be obvious actually.

I think it's hard to find any band that is just straight up anything. So it's just dumb to get so worked up over calling Slipknot nu metal especially when you're obviously confused on what constitutes as nu metal. Like getting pissed off at me for calling Jedi Mind Tricks hardcore hip hop because they have horrorcore songs or calling Dr. Dre gangster rap because he could also be g-funk.

So it's falling back to the "everybody calls Slipknot nu metal because everybody is stupid" thing.

TBH I don't think you can accurately make social assessments like that because while you may read more metal articles than me I definitely socialize with more people than you especially white trash folk. You're only slightly wrong.

In what bands is industrial a key influence?

I've never met a smart nu metal fan.

You wouldn't know a smart person if you saw one because you automatically think everybody's stupid for blatantly superficial things.
