If I had to say other Nirvana songs I'd go with Polly, Something In The Way, Milk It, and Scentless Apprentice.

I prefer...

and

Dawn's Highway.
It reminds me of the innocence of a child and (their fragile eggshell mind)
how Morrison died.

Nice list by the way Bebop.

volcomstone 06-02-2005 12:50 PM

Try Gary Jules' Cover of the Tears for Fear song Mad World. It's from the Donny Darko Soundtrack. Another Nirvana song to try is Verse Chorus Verse.

oreilly 06-02-2005 03:30 PM

Magic - Ben Folds Five (This is a song from a Dawson's Creek soundtrack) LAME i know, but so sad....you have to listen to it a few times i think.

Streets Of Philidelphia - Bruce Springsteen Just sad...the movie was heartbreaking.

Glycerine - Bush

The Scientist - Coldplay

Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton

Spike*Spiegel 06-02-2005 09:27 PM

donny darko is the ****. yeah, heart shaped box is another one of my favorites.

Static-Fear-Shot 06-03-2005 12:13 AM

Forsaken by David Draiman would have to be a sad one, may not immediately appear as such, but after a while once you grasp what is actually being said within, sadness is inevitable .. for me anyhow.. oh yeah and mad world .... all l can think of right now .. but l'm sure there are tons out there!

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 06-03-2005 12:23 AM

before i go - unwritten law. i dont really know why, but sometimes that song makes me a little on the sad side.

Spike*Spiegel 06-04-2005 01:04 PM

counting crows- colorblind
eels- 3 speed
eels- its a motherf*cker
green day- give me novocaine

Sneer 06-04-2005 01:19 PM

Martin Grech- Guiltless. very radiohead meets NIN..pretty dark.

Koven 06-04-2005 09:45 PM

I agree with a couple I have seen such as:
Counting Crows: Colorblind (awesome tune)
The verve: Freshmen (Tongue tied and twisted with my head on the floor?)

Both of those are great picks and here are some of my votes:

Nothing says sadness like.... Hey, Hey, my, my: Neil Young
The cure: A Thousand hours
Tracy Chapman: Fast car

And for some reason this song grabs me pretty harsh: Vincent....by Don Mclean (sp?)

Hope you enjoy these songs if you did not previously know or dislike them..their good listening!

Peace out!
Koven

eviljoker7075 06-06-2005 03:01 PM

Can I suggest 'She Knows Love' by onnie Munro?

I find that song very sad, but I have a bit of a story attatched, but none the less I think it is a bit sad, in places...

ladyluckrules 06-07-2005 02:33 PM

johnny cash - hurt! even sader with the vid

volcomstone 06-09-2005 11:26 AM

Bush has some reasonably sad songs. Not necessarily the lyrics but just the mood the songs put out. "Letting the Cables Sleep" and "Wild Horses" are good ones. Wild horses is actually a Rolling Stones cover.

Fenixpunk 06-09-2005 11:46 AM

guns n roses do a good version of wild horses.

ladyluckrules 06-09-2005 03:31 PM
