In terms of songwriting, Blur with Albarm wins, and in terms of guitar playing, Blur with Coxon also wins. Maybe the latter question could also be a poll:

Blur are better in every possible way, better songwriting, lyrics, ensemble of musicians.

Coxon is a way better guitarist than Noel, and Albarn is a way better singer than Liam.

But who isn't a way better singer than Liam? Seriously. He has one of the most grating voices I've ever heard.

I can't believe this is a comparison, really.

If you want something fun, creative and exciting, go with Blur.

If you want a mediocre, airbrushed Beatles wannabe that specializes in AOR tripe that will forever be logjammed into modern FM radio and make your trips to the dentist even more unpleasant, go with Oasis.

I 100% agree with you! This an amazing event.

Gorillaz are abysmal.

Blur are ok.

I love Oasis, and pretty much everything they have done to Dig Out Your Soul. Even though I like it, doesn't make their music good. But many can't deny Noel's Song writing ability is great. Some of the lyrics are wow.

Damon Albarn, boys who like girls, who like boys who like.. oh fuck off. I liked a few Blur songs though. - Charming Man, No Distance Left To Run, Tender etc.

People like you really shouldn't be allowed to vote... or procreate for that matter.

Anyways I went with Damon Albarn because he did one of my favourite soundtracks of all time, "Ravenous". Some seriously dark banjo pluckin' going on there, one of the reasons I've wanted to pick up a banjo.

hahaha QFT

Even know this has probably already been said but Oasis have been releasing the same watered down versions of their debut and tend to get dull very fast. The Oasis song formula consists of verse, chorus, guitar solo, Noel trying to fit the word 'shine' in there and repeat. Where as Blur are much more diverse adding keyboards, trumpets, string sections, and much more range of instruments. You would think someone who claims to be such an avid Smith's fan would write something deep but most of the time it's average, hell even the lyrics to their first two singles were pretty much written on the spot. Damon takes inspiration from various things such as the novel London Fields for the album Parklife.

I'd go with Blur anytime. I like what Damon Albarn is doing. Not everything he touches is gold but he sure is creative and doesn't mind some experimenting. Never liked Oasis very much and they've been doing the same thing for ages. But they've mastered the head-up-your-ass-arrogant-rock-star-bastard attitude to perfection so if you're into that they win it by a landslide.
