It'll be interesting to see, when the list is done that is, what decade was the most prolific, the 70's are ahead for now.

Ok, I think I got it all now...why hasn't anyone (more knowledgeable) mentioned the New York Dolls, or Echo and the Bunnymen? They're supposed to be really influential bands no? What about XTC? I've heard them mention a gazzillion times..

This is only me talking for me so I don't want a torrent of abuse but personally I hate the New York Dolls. Theres definitely a cult built around it but at the heart of that cult you've got a bunch of talentless smackheads trying to be the Rolling Stones.
