speaking of wolves....have you seen Into The Woods?

Bernadette Peters is amazing as the witch

Yes, I agree, Rogers and Hammerstein were brilliant! I think it must be a very satisfying feeling to have created pieces that bring joy to so many people.

I saw part of "Into The Woods" on TV. I think I prefer musicals that have more of a serious side to them, and I recall that's a goofy musical, isn't it?

I actually love this thread! I've been acting since I was a wee thing, and of course I've heard dozens and dozens of musicals - haha.

My top 5 just to listen to:
1.) Tick, Tick...Boom!
2.) A Little Night Music
3.) Rocky Horror
4.) Wicked
5.) Bat Boy: The Musical

My top 5 that I've been in:
1.) Grease (Rizzo)2.) The Boyfriend (Mme. Dubonnet)
3.) Guys and Dolls (Gen. Cartwright)
4.) Rocky Horror (Frank, Magenta)
5.) The Wiz (Tornado dancer, poppy, main Ozian)

I've never even heard of "Tick, Tick...Boom" or "A little Night Music," or "Bat Boy: The Musical!" Bat Boy! Is that like a young Bat Man? :p:

How lovely that you could be in so many musicals, Phanastasio. I remember seeing the stage with the piano in your hometown and now wonder if that's where you've performed. I have only been in a musical reading in which I got to sing the songs but just read the lines...and it was loads of fun...so I imagine doing a real musical would be even better.

Rizzo must have been a fun character to play. In honor of you and Rizzo, whose strong-but-fragile-underneath character was one of my favorites because she had the most depth, here she is singing a song I like very much from that musical. I love how she goes from self-questioning to confident self-respect!

yeah Into the Woods is very silly....a warning Cannibal is flat out stupid

it just clicked in my head that Phanastasio played Rizzo and i played Kenickie:D

Count me in the fan club, it turned into my absolute favorite, not only musical, but possibly film in general. And along with Grease, Hair and Mamma mia, it's the only musical which actually has good music and as far as artistic achievement, it blows any other musical out of the water.

I also liked Rocky horror and Hedwig and the angry inch, as films, but the music did absolutely nothing for me.
