I just listened to that Arab On Radar album that you uploaded, and I'd have to say, it's pretty damn good. I read on wikipedia that they often got comparisons to the Contortions and I can definitely see how people would compare the two. Thanks again for the upload. I enjoy this music thoroughly.

You mean sub-genres of avant-garde or experimental?

Here's all of Tweedles! by The Residents if any of you are interested. You see, the thing about the Residents is that most if not all of their albums are concept albums. It's great. They have like 60 albums too. Tweedles!

I wouldn't mind seeing an Avant-garde/Experimental forum.

I think the reason this should be implimented as opposed to other suggestions is because it isn't a sub-genre of forums that are already here like pretty much all requests for forums are.
Avant-garde/Experimental covers such a wide base , it can be anything from Krautrock to Jazz to No Wave , to Electronica to Noise and many many more.

Added to this there are a lot of regular posters who are into experimental music so the forum would get used often. In fact I think it would be just as popular as the emo forum if it was done , only without the silly arguements debating the emoness (or lack of it) of some bands

I agree full heartedly. That is also why I think an avant-garde/experimental forum would be a great addition to this website.

I think it would definately be a good addition. Ive found myself spending less and less time here, because any good convos on interesting bands just seem to die out.. a forum would keep convos about Arab on Radar for example, going. I cant think of any other forums that have a section for this type of music either....

What exactly is avant-garde? I've seen the term a few times but never applied to a specific band the only time was when I downloaded a Kayo Dot album the genre was avant-garde.
