I've not seen them but I have heard of them...too many films, too little time...;)

Are you a fan of Sigur ros? How much does it cost now?

Oh and Heima would have been a transcendental experience on the big screen, shame I didn't get a chance to experience it that way...:\

jackhammer 01-25-2008 03:38 PM

Yeah I like Sigur Ros. It's approx 15-20 pounds at the moment.

Just stumbled on this thread. I'm missing my VHS copy of '1991 - The Year Punk Broke' - Sonic Youth / Nirvana / Dinosaur Jr documentary. It reminds me of what a f*cking great time I had that year. I've no idea if it's available on DVD but I really fancy seeing it again...

I'm not really into music DVDs as such but I've always loved Bowie's final Ziggy gig at Hammersmith and I also used to have a Hüsker Dü live in London VHS somewhere.

Is that the Camden Palace gig in 1985?

I've been after that in mp3 for ages :(

mr. goth glam 01-25-2008 08:30 PM

I'd probably go with Bob Dylan: No Direction Home.

savannah 01-25-2008 08:44 PM

the band's 'the last waltz'
the black crowes' 'freak n roll'
tom petty's 'runnin down a dream'

Yeah - that's the one! From what I remember it was mainly tracks from Zen Arcade / New Day Rising / Flip Your Wig - plus I'm sure there was a cover of Ticket To Ride as well. Let me know if you ever find it!

bordo 01-30-2008 02:25 PM

that's a hard one, but I would have to go for either

:: Nirvana :: Nirvana - Live Tonight Sold Out

or

:: Pink Floyd :: Pink Floyd - The Delicate Sound Of Thunder

I also love all metallica's shows

I bought this from the infamous POUNDLAND store, knowing full well that the audio-visual quality would be piss poor but always worth a pound! Guess what? The PQ is terrible. It seems to be a VHS rip and the colours bleed terribly but the sound is pretty damn good. There are some awesome funk-rock workouts and it is well worth a quid!

I would really like to check out that my morning jacket dvd but there is something about that band. I love mehgeetah but whenever I try to listen to anything else they have done it just pales. I need a few good tracks to really get in to a band... how much time should I need to give them.

chartsengrafs 03-25-2008 10:23 PM

you are right to like mageetah.. that is also my favorite track. but you should also check out:

lay low
at dawn
lowdown
the way that he sings
golden
i will sing you songs
dondante
wordless chorus
it beats 4 u
gideon

i could go on.

>Rubberchicken: Even if you don't like them that much, I'm sure you'll change your mind after you see Okonokos, it's really an incredible performance. One of my friends got into them that way...

Rubberchicken 03-26-2008 05:39 AM

Does No Direction Home: Bob Dylan count?

Actually I've been dying to see Festival! by Murray Lerner. It documents four Newport Folk Festivals from 1963-1966. It's a point of pride that my state had one of the most extraordinary musical happenings at the time.

O'Bannion 04-04-2008 07:21 AM

I'm gonna go ahead and say H.A.A.R.P. by Muse since it ****ing owns.

[MERIT] 04-04-2008 08:03 AM

Mine's gotta be Fozzy's "Unleashed, Uncensored, Unknown." It's a mock-u-mentary where they act like a 1980's hair metal band and all go by their alter-ego personas. It's quite the entertaining piece of work.

analogtones 04-11-2008 11:59 AM

Super Furry Animals "Rings Around The World". The menu alone makes my hair stand on end!

provorocker 04-12-2008 04:30 AM

I love the live concert DVD of Muse that came with the special edition of the Black Holes and Revelations album.

Dr_Rez 04-12-2008 08:10 AM

Slane Castle Chili Pepper concert in Ireland.

What i would give to have been there.
