It was a joke. I guess it's hard to tell on an internet forum.

C'mon mate, when you're wrong just admit it and chalk it up to experience, you're starting to look foolishly stubborn.
I don't believe everything i read on the net, but this is from fans:

Pigs (3 Different Ones) by Pink Floyd Songfacts

It may have been partly inspired, but it is not purely based on. i found this link AFTER I posted my personal views.

Nick Mason may well have said that Waters based it on Animal farm, but I have never heard of ANIMALS being based upon Animal Farm by any other fans. There are similarities of course, and influence, but if you read the lyrics they are about the class system; this can then be linked (even classed as a rip off structually) to Animal Farm as can THE WIZARD OF OZ to DSOTM, but it's not based on that either.

I think its safe to say Animal Farms was an influence if they're talking about the same subject with the same imagery, which is something you completely skipped over and I can find several instances of fans saying that, shit there was several instances in the google link that you dismissed off as 'hearsay' (the links included rockhall, wikipedia, amazon, etc).

Aside from that how you can go and dismiss something like what I posted as hearsay then cite the fans as a reason it wasn't based off Animal Farm I don't understand.

^^^^
I'm pointing out that other fans agree with what i'm saying. It's not the absolute fact, i'm providing a link that backs up my theory (through fans admittedly). I over reacted to your statement for which I apologise.

Yes there is a link with Animal Farm which I have ignored/ not noticed to my own detriment, however; it is still not BASED on Animal Farm it uses the novels structure as a rant about British class systems, that's all.

If you read Animal Farm you'll not be able to deny the connection any longer. I don't know that anyone ever said the album was based on, just inspired by and it clearly is. Couple that with a band member telling is in a "tell-all" book that Orwell was a major influence of Waters and in particular Animal Farm on the Animals album you essentially have an open and shut case.

Regardless I have bigger rats to fry (or stew eh right track) How come our beloved Crowquill was able to type the word **** without being censored. That's bull****. I want to use the word **** too.

What's the big deal. If you'd read his quoted post while you were posting you could figure out how to bypass the filter.

Who cares?
