I put alternative, as i thought anything can be an alternative to something else. I'm a genius.

There is no best genre, all the aforementioned genres have something worth listening to.

If were talking about preference of course, it would be Rock.

Ok, I renamed the thread title to 'Favourite Genre' so that it's consistent with the first post which mentions favourite, not best.

And mine is prog rock but I think you guys know I listen to much much more than that.

I love me some rock, but I'm going to go with blues, since it was my first true love.

I'm gonna go with Alternative, but anyone with an acoustic guitar will change my life <3. It's probably why I prefer Elliott's early work allloott more.

Just a little gripe, this list doesn't give enough to electronic, an electronica category would be nice, seeing as everything electronic is not just simply dance music.

I intended to vote for alt. but, my mouse skipped. I listen to alot of music and pretty much anything could fit into alternative soo...

i put alternative because there is no grunge.

i have to say metal. not that it's the only music i'm in love with. but i prefer to play it over any other genre.

Gospel deserves a vote.

Seeing as I listen to Electro, Gothic, metal and country I am not sure what catergory to pick!!

Out of the ones you have selected only rock, folk, alternative and a smiggen of pop would enter the realm of possibilites.

It seems like every ****ing band is labelled as alternative these day. That term has completely lost it's meaning, just like indie. And it's a stupid ****ing name for a genre anyway, music journalists have such ****ty imagination these days.

Classical and Dance deserve more than one vote. Rock is over represented.
