In sum Kiss probably is rated correctly musically - as mediocre - but Bruce Kulick is underrated.

Honestly the band Kiss is just like Nirvana. Very average lead singer but there are very entertaining.

Kiss don't have a lead singer, all 4 of the band sing.

Which one were you talking about and why do you think he's average.

I'll ask you to elaborate but you'll probably ignore me like you did when I suspected you were talking about something you knew nothing about like you were doing in the Bowie vs Dylan thread.

I will respond. I am speaking about Gene Simmons. He and Kurt Cobian are not great singers but they are incredibly entertaining. They know how to command the stage. I got to give that to Nirvana and Kiss.

Cobain's success lay in his lyricism which, while not necessarily as profound as he liked to think, resonated greatly with much of an entire generation. Simmons is definitely entertaining, but I still view KISS as a novelty act. Which, really, they are.

KISS over rate themselves. They made sure they had all the bells and whistles of being this great Rock band with all the make up and stage antics but as you put it "their music is crap." All that work on image but when it comes to music they don't deliver the goods. Dio said Gene claims to invent breathing and shoes, I would go one small step further and say Gene invented the "poser phony" - himself.

Listen I get what you are saying but Kiss is not as bad as you guys want to think. I remember in MN state fair, the Kiss concert was a major success and I know their loyal fans were having so much fun. Cobian was a great lyricist because he had a honest feeling which was usually depressed and angry mood.

But like I said, there are not many great rock bands in my view. In fact most rock bands to me as either average or boring except bands like Rush, Green Day, Metalicca, and Ac/Dc.

Don't you hate Rock and Roll and think it's laughable music? I am really really suprised you like those Rock groups. You don't think that the lead singer of Rush, Geddy Lee, is laughable? Or the fact that Agnus Young wears a school uniform laughable? Anyway I'm am glad to see you are broadening your taste and like more Rock other than the laughable Sweet Cherry Pie song.
