Yeah I fully support this. They''re alright but it's just total throwback music and there's not much interesting about it. Good band but overrated for sure.

Dude im so glad you said that the only thing it did was remind me of the trippy era from the beatles

And the guy sings exactly like john used to sing those type of songs but i guess that's the point

Yeah there's a few times where I have done double takes and actually thought my friends were playing The Beatles, it's uncanny. But Tame Impala aren't innovative or fresh so it's not worth listening to.
I prefer POND, a band with the same members.

Underrated : Yellow Magic Orchestra.

Along with Giorgio Moroder and Kraftwerk, I think they were the most important electronic music artists at the end of the 70s/beginning of the 80s but i rarely see them quoted or talked about anywhere. Each of their 5 studio albums is great while being very different from each other.

Now THIS I agree with! I even prefer YMO to Kraftwerk personally.

YMO deserves a thread here (if there isn't one already).

Also underrated : solo works by YMO members (except Ryuichi Sakamoto I guess)

All this talk about YMO brings back some memories...

This video was played on one of the many Music shows way back in the day, I think it was called Rock World although it certainly played a more eclectic assortment that what you expected. Imagine a kid living in Small Dot, MI, pre-Cable (in fact cable did not come to the Small Dot I lived in until after I moved out), watching a show with an open mind on some hard to get station transmitting from Ann Arbor on UHF (to those young or living outside The US, the channels from 14 on up) and digging this!

I'd like to challenge the idea that Radiohead are overrated (I'm not a big fan, but I do like some of their songs)

The majority of people I have spoken to about them seem to think that they're overrated, and surely if most people think they are overrated then that actually means they aren't overrated?

They're my favourite band but the only reason they don't seem overrated to you right now is because they haven't been doing anything. The minute they drop a new album things are going to get crazy again.

i consider Radiohead overrated but for a good reason

For me it's one of those bands that are good but ppl make a big deal out of them and that simple fact makes you think they are bit overrated (at least in my case)
