Makes his existence worthwhile, for that one act of brilliance if nothing else. Also, I think Animals is too good an album to be dismissed. I never understood their commerical success though...bored middle class wife syndrome must have been pretty bad in the seventies for an album like The Wall to have sold so much.

Underrated: KATE BUSH, MADONNA, BRITNEY SPEARS

Underrated by those of us here on the boards, I'm assuming? Because elsewhere those pop stars are pretty huge...even if it is just for the controversy they might bring.

If that's the case, then I will give you Kate Bush and Madonna but definitely not Britney Spears.

Definitely not? Have you listened to all her albums, I wonder?

I can actually back this up with a yes...my sister is a Britney fanatic. So. I stand by my opinion. She did nothing anyone hadn't done before her.

Most lifelong Floyd fans dislike The Wall and quite rightly so- it's not very good...

The production on some of her albums is actually more experimental that people give it credit for. Anyway, I still doubt you've listened to ALL her material straight through. Don't lie now.

I actually like The Wall...I find the non-singles to be very ambient, probably even influential on the post-rock genre.

The Wall has ambiance to it, but it's fairly condensed and meandering. The long, drawn-out, sometimes droning ambiance of krautrock were probably a lot more important for Post-Rock, which follows the same suit.

Personally I'm very indifferent to The Wall now. It's usually what people assume 'overrates' Pink Floyd. A pretty decent album has been given far too much praise if you ask me.
