I was born in Memphis, so naturally every person who finds out has to ask if I listen to Elvis and if I've been to Graceland. The answer is no.

Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, and Bob Marley are masterpieces of music alongisde Franco and Pepe Kalle. Those five musicians are the greatest people I have seen for a long time. They are the ones who are the masters. They made great music. They are the ones who are the masters of music. Elvis, Bob, and Michael are unique people in the music scene. They are the ones who are the genius. Music is about soul not money. Elvis, Bob, and Michael made music for your soul. That is they are missed so much especially Bob Marley.

Half of the people who I know who listen to Bob Marley don't even know what he was about. How about that? Stupid stoners mindlessly gravitated towards his music and that ruined it.

Marley is important to music because he brought reggae to the mainstream, at least within the United States. That being said, there is far better reggae bands/musicians, Marley is just the most well known.

I am a big Elvis fan, but I would say he is overrated, I mean his Sun Sessions and other early stuff is great, but his music got very bland towards the end of his career and did not warrant the hype it received.

To each his/her own, but both of these artists are far from Godlike.

Bob Marley is a icon. He is someone who was a human being. He knew he had flaws. Every musician has flaws. Tell me who is a perfect musician. TELL ME. Bob Marley is someone who has a great heart. I know he had a drug problem but his music lives on. Bob Marley will never die musically. Bob Marley has something which IS REAL LIFE and THAT LIFE NEEDS LOVE. Bob Marley will never be replaced. There will never be another BOB MARLEY. PERIOD.

While I do like his voice, I must say that the fact he couldn't write music was more a product of early rock'n'roll rather than Elvis specifically. Most [white] artists preformed songs supplied by the record companies.
