Probably because your not listening to the MAINSTREAM station... Drake is always on the radio.... lets not play dumb.... his a very popular mainstream rapper.

Drake Tops Jay-Z For R&B/Hip-Hop Chart No. 1s Record | Billboard.com

Drake also has the most number ones out of any rapper on the Rap/R&B charts in billboard history. Ive looked to see any SOLO Jack material and none of his stuff has charted so that means none of it was playing on the radio.

Underrated and being lesser known are two different things. Typically the artists who are lesser known most of the times tends to be the ones that are underrated because there not well known.

Do you honestly think the average 14-22 year old would know who Cheap Trick are?

They more than likely will know who Nikki Minaj, Rihanna, Katy Perry etc is because those are pop artists.

How is that relevant to the question I asked you? BBC 1 and NPR aren't online stations.

Who gives a fuck? 14-22 year olds are hardly the only people listening to music in the world. Do you think 60-68 year olds would know who Nikki Minaj was?

There not more known than the other stations own by Viacom...that sticks to a specific radio playlist whether their online or not.
