To be fair it wasnt a BAD album, just not as good as the others.
Some more examples:
Anthrax - State Of Euphoria (bad album when they we're at their peak)
Metallica - Reload (i dont need to explain)
Pixies - Triomp Le Monde (the magic was well and truly gone)
Helloween - Pink Bubbles Go Ape (the album title says it all, urgh!)
Megadeth - Risk (boring radio-friendly tosh)

i'll add more when i can think of some

^ If I had to say personally I was particularly disappointed with any one Metallica album, I would say 'Saint Anger' really was a drag.

Never understood the hate for this.It may not be as good as some of their other stuff but it's nowhere near bad.
If anything I rate Bossanova lower.

No way, I love Bossanova. Velouria, Is She Wierd?, Dig For Fire, Down To The Well, they're all great Pixies tracks

Midnite Vultures, no wai.

I can't think of any albums right now, but I don't think the Life Pursuit by Belle and Sebastian is very good and they are a great band.

I think I'll have to go for Foo Fighters here. I was a big fan right up until In Your Honor. They'd never been a particularly adventurous band but this was the big turning point in my eyes... this was the beginning of that middle-of-the-road sound that they've stuck with. I'm not saying that they weren't radio-friendly to begin with because their music has always been accessible but there's something missing these days.
