Default The Crowquill 100

100. Archers of Loaf "Icky Mettle"

90s indie grungeish album that reminds me of Pavement and Dinosaur Jr, with its silly lyrics and catchy hooks. Jesse Lacey once said this album restorted his faith in music.
Favorite Song: Web In Front
MySpace.com - Archers of Loaf - CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina - Indie / Alternative / Rock - www.myspace.com/archersofloaf

99. Red House Painters "Song For A Blue Guitar"

Mark Kozelek has a way with covers. He covers Wings "Silly Love Songs", The Cars "All Mixed Up" and finally "Long Distance Runaround" by Yes. Now I don't care for any of the originals, in fact I despise Yes. But he covers them amazing making them songs i'd actually want to listen to, turning them into Nick Drake-esque songs. But covers aside, the originals are also beautiful songs in the same vein.
Favorite song: Song For a Blue Guitar
MySpace.com - Red House Painters - NEW YORK, New York - Folk / Pop / Rock - www.myspace.com/redhousepaintersmusic

98. This Will Destroy You "Young Mountain EP"

Post-rock band similar to Explosions in the Sky (like that hasn't been heard before), which isn't a bad thing at all. They're more easy to get into because they're less subtle and don't spend as much time building up to lead to the breakdowns, listening to this EP never fails to make me eager for their debut album to be released.
Favorite Song: Quiet
MySpace.com - this will destroy you - SAN MARCOS, TEXAS - Ambient / Rock / Thrash - www.myspace.com/thiswilldestroyyou

97. Library Tapes "Feelings For Something Lost"

Somewhere between minimalism and post-rock. This album is based around repeated piano noises and background sounds, it's ambient.
Favorite Song: Shut Your Eyes and You’ll Find the Trees Turning Into Flames
MySpace.com - library tapes - Gävle - Classical / Experimental / Ambient - www.myspace.com/librarytapes

I used really like Archers of Loaf. They deserve to be before Lullatone at least.

But good luck on doing this. I wouldn't have the tenacity to finish it.

I had to re-order it slightly because I had 105 albums instead of 100, it's sorted out now though.

96. Youth Pictures Of Florence Henderson "Unnoticable In A Tiny Town, Invisible In The City"

Norwegian post-rock bands one and only album, similar to other post-rock bands such as Mogwai with a Notwist thing going on.
Favorite Song: Van Gogh Kept Painting Himself Because He Was The Only Model He Had
MySpace.com - Youth Pictures of Florence Henderson - North - Indie / Emo / Electronica - www.myspace.com/youthpictures

95. Earlimart "Treble & Tremble"

Earlimart stray away from their more punk driven sound to dive more into the realm of shoegaze. Essentially it sounds like Slowdive meets Grandaddy, with dreamy melodies and airy vocals, it may be nothing special but that doesn't make it any less beautiful.
Favorite Song: Hold On, Slow Down
MySpace.com - Earlimart - LOS ANGELES - Rock / Indie / 2-step - www.myspace.com/earlimart

94. Say Anything "...Is A Real Boy"

Now singer/songwriter Max Bemis is a completely hypocritical asshole, but if you shove his personality aside he does make good music and write great lyrics. ...Is a Real Boy is a pop-punk/rock album that once you get into it's hard to get out of.
Favorite Song: Woe
MySpace.com - Say Anything - LOS ANGELES - Indie / Rock - www.myspace.com/sayanything

93. Beach House "Beach House"

Beach House are dreamy, melancholic and true to their name. For some reason this band always conjures of images of slowly driving along the coast and wrapped up in a warm blanket. At times it can be a bit boring but for the most part its just comfortable, and done purely for the most easy listening possible, which isn't a bad thing.
Favorite Song: Masters of None
MySpace.com - Beach House - BALTIMORE, Maryland - Visual / Visual / Visual - www.myspace.com/beachhousemusic

92. The Boy Least Likely To "The Best Party Ever"

"If all your childhood stuffed animals got together and started a band, it might sound like the boy least likely to" - rolling stone magazine and for once, they're right though there's no might about it.
Favorite song: Be Gentle With Me
MySpace.com - the boy least likely to - Alternative / Pop / Country - www.myspace.com/theboyleastlikelytouk

91. Do Make Say Think "You, You're A History In Rust"

This album always stuck me as a weird post-rock album, not just because of the vocals which seem to be rare amongst post-rock bands. But for presenting a more wooden sound. The folk influences are quickly made apparent on the opening track Bound To Be That Way and the banjo that appears throughout the album is excellently placed.
Favorite song: A With Living
MySpace.com - Do Make Say Think - Toronto, CA - Grunge / Psychobilly / Southern Rock - www.myspace.com/doomachesatan

90. Rilo Kiley "Take Offs and Landings"

This is my favorite Rilo Kiley album, maybe because i've always preferred Blake's singing to Jenny's, I don't know. I think its their most charming album because its not fully polished and still shows a more amateur side to them then before but still manages to be a very good release. Other then August my favorite songs are Salute My Shorts, Science Vs. Romance, Bulletproof, Wire and Waves and Small Figures in a Vast Expanse.
Favorite Song: August
MySpace.com - Rilo Kiley - LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - Indie / Rock / Alternative - www.myspace.com/rilokiley

89. Idiot Pilot "Strange We Should Meet Here"

When I first heard about them I was apprehensive to check them out. I was told they were two eighteen year olds who were the hardcore version of radiohead. Upon listening I was shocked that it was good, a very nice blend of modern post-hardcore, pop and electronic. Though the vocals are obviously similar to Yorke its not in the "My name is Matt Bellamy, i'm a faggot" way.
Favorite Song: Arrhythmia
MySpace.com - Idiot Pilot - BELLINGHAM, US - Electronica / Alternative - www.myspace.com/idiotpilot
