Crowe 12-05-2007 11:39 PM

Yesss new Mars Volta album that is going to be so sexy.

I have a feeling the new Final Fantasy album will blow... sigh, I feel like he is a flash in the pan artist that will fizzle out once people realize that he is a one trick pony and that the trick wasn't THAT great to begin with.

A yes PLEASE for the new Antony and the Johnsons though, gimme a little love for the SMZ album..

Ac/Dc and Aerosmith, the Raconteurs, Queen, Weezer and Wolfmother are also releasing some bid'ness. I am pumped for 08. I only wish the Stripes would record another one... come on striiipess..

and the new KING CRIMSON album, who woulda thought??

He deserves cred purely for his work with the Arcade Fire and Has a Good Home is a great album how can you hate This Is A Dream Of Win And Regine?

Crowe 12-05-2007 11:47 PM

This is kinda a hard position to defend because while I do like Final Fantasy... I don't personally think he has much left as a solo musician! He is brilliant with Arcade Fire, and man do I love Arcade Fire - I hope the album IS good don't get me wrong, this is one of the few times where being proven wrong is a blessing rather than sh!t being rubbed in my face. The reason I don't look forward to the album being released is because I feel like I will become disenchanted with him.

sleepy jack 12-06-2007 12:00 AM

I guess I can see that and thinking about it there's a good chance it could be bad. I mean Has a Good Home is probably his best album and He Poos Clouds didn't really touch it, it's too early to tell and it could just be a sophomore slump but lots of people never really touch their debut albums he could be one of them.

pheurton 12-06-2007 02:18 AM

CTTS will be interesting, bar that patrick wolf.

Night_Lamp 12-06-2007 06:09 AM

I'm really excited about the new Volta. I'm also intrested in hearing the new Weezer. Rick Rubin is producing this time, I wonder what it'll sound like.

I can HARDLY WAIT!! To hate the new U2. Sure to be awfull.

Alo 12-06-2007 07:07 AM

Say Hi To Your Mom "The Wishes and the Glitch"

I got that one a few weeks ago, it's typically say hi, it's good, just nothing new...

venitronics 12-06-2007 11:54 AM

Cant wait for U2...

O'Bannion 12-06-2007 01:08 PM

U2
Nine Inch Nails
Massive Attack
Autolux
Portishead
My Bloody Valentine
The Mars Volta

The new NIN sounds intriguing now that Adrian Belew has starting working with Reznor on it.

mermaid 12-06-2007 02:02 PM

Black Mountain- In The Future
Final Fantasy- Heartland (!!!)

I heard a track off of that album the other day and it was sweet. It sounded like Tool and Rush formed a super group.

The Dave 12-06-2007 07:31 PM

The Fall Of Troy
Thrice
CTTS

Not really sure of any others to be honest.

kingoffspring 12-07-2007 11:52 PM

Amputechture was really disappointing but I guess I'm hoping against hope that TMV will release a good album...

What is that one trick?

And the Racounters will nicotine patch us for the next stripes. And the Mars volta should be exciting. Their being bleed into me. I never took to them but slowly I started amassing "likes" which I think are on every album but the one I own (2nd one)

adidasss 12-08-2007 09:24 AM

Frances the mute?

sleepy jack 12-08-2007 02:08 PM

Apparently Kevin Barnes said something along the lines of "I'm going to lose so many fans, but I don't care, I'm having so much fun." I'm kind of scared for the new Of Montreal album, either it's going to be amazing and fantastically weird pop or it's going to be a really bad "radio indie" album.

adidasss 12-08-2007 04:19 PM

I've read the Pitchfork interview and all he said was that it's gonna be funky. It's gonna be awesome. They get better with each album.

sleepy jack 12-08-2007 04:21 PM

That's really relieving, I thought he was going to go all radio on everyone. I hope it gets leaked super early like Hissing Fauna did.

adidasss 12-08-2007 04:32 PM

Well, going radio friendly wouldn't be a bad thing in my book, you uptight indie twat...*cough*RiloKiley*cough*:yeah:

sleepy jack 12-08-2007 04:34 PM

Under the Blacklight still sucks, sorry.

I know...:yeah:

You're just too pussy to admit that you like a bit of pop...

sleepy jack 12-08-2007 04:44 PM

I'd like it more if the band didn't previously release much much better music.

Yeah, read the interview, it's good stuff. He made it sound like the album will be a lot more experimental and just whatever they can come up with.

There's some live performances of the new stuff on youtube. I don't have enough posts to link to them, but they're called "Mingusings", "Softcore", "Our Last Summer of Independence" and one other slow jam that I don't know the title to. Going by what Kevin said, I expected the new stuff to be a lot weirder. But it's still pretty good. They opened with "Mingusings" when I saw them and it was amazing.

Judging by their last 3 albums, I'm not sure they can get any weirder...

British_pharaoh 12-10-2007 03:22 PM

i'm looking forward to the new Subways and Blood red Shoes' debut

savagedragon77 12-10-2007 09:57 PM

Right now, only anticipating:

U2
Eminem

Laces Out Dan! 12-10-2007 10:00 PM

I feel really really sorry for you.

savagedragon77 12-10-2007 10:08 PM

Don't. I'm more of a movie man, also I have my new Eagles and upcoming Wu-Tang albums to hold me over. :)

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 12-10-2007 11:04 PM

i read that the new ctts release is going to actually be an EP and they haven't even hit up the studio yet.

sleepy jack 12-10-2007 11:06 PM

I have heard so many rumors about it. The three most commonly passed around ones are.

1. It was going to be released in 2007
2. One of the songs is half-hour
3. The demos are already complete

The only thing concrete about it is the live song they posted on myspace.
