After getting blown away by Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées I knew I had to get this. It is a side project by Fursy Teyssier who is/was involved with projects such as Peste Noire, Alcest, Amesoeurs, Arctic Plateau, Neun Welten, and The American Dollar. Simply a gorgeous blend of shoegaze and post rock.

I picked this up a few months ago, and it is easily now one of my favorite post rock albums. Absolutely amazing. And Dandelion Gum... that's one of my favorite albums of all time. It's a shame the follow up was such a let down. If you haven't heard it yet, The House of Apples and Eyeballs (with The Octopus Project) is fantastic as well.

I've been in a post rock mood lately for some reason, and this is up there pretty high in my personal favorites.

Clark - Totems Flare

I've had this since it came out last year, I just happen to be digging it right now. I wasn't sure how to feel about it at first, as the vocals were something new for him. Musically there were stellar moments, but the vocals distracted. Luckily they're not on each track. The more I listen to it though the more I just realize it's just a damn fun record, and I shouldn't take it too seriously. It wins. I just hope he doesn't increase the amount of vocals on the next record. I can tolerate this amount even if I prefer it mostly instrumental. Truth is at times it sounds like nothing more than a vocal sample, which I've always been a fan of. It's not like he's crooning or something.

And while mastered a bit on the loud side, the production is pretty damn nice.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

For some reason I couldn't make the connection considering he was already dead by then. My mistake. Oh and:

Roy Harper - Stormcock (1971)

Hey. Pay attention, you indie-folk clowns. This is how it's done right. Beautiful vocal and guitar arrangements yield a simple yet extraordinary folk album. Hats off.

Three Trapped Tigers - EP2

This is cool. Like a mix of Tortoise (new heavier style and old more mellow), Cougar, and 65daysofstatic and some spastic math rock tendencies thrown in for good measure. The electronics might be a little more pronounced, but the drumming is right up front too. The song '7' in particular is grabbing me. I just played their first EP before this and liked it too, and they have a 3rd coming out soon apparently. Excitement!

The Go-Betweens- 16 Lovers Lane
Pretty much stereotypical 80's indie, but perfected.

How strange. I got this just last night myself; top shelf scotch so far; makes most of today's acclaimed singer/songwriters look like toddlers.

As for me'self-

Gungfly - Please Be Quiet (2009)

An intriguing solo album from the vocalist of one of modern prog. rock's best groups, Beardfish. Contemporary yet vintage, there's some fantastic sonic spirit at work here that I'm really enjoying.

Oh, and 'On and On' is extremely catchy.

Redneck Wonderland - Midnight Oil

Twelve or so years on, it's still a magnificently, intense, fun and yes, still quite relevant album...

I've been in a kinda raw, stripped-down mood:

The Flashbulb - Kirlian Selections

Thanks to Freebase's recommendation of these guys, I have been thoroughly enjoying this album.
