Mastodon's new one, Crack the Skye has got me pretty hooked at the moment.
I had been listening to Rain Dogs and Real Gone, both by Tom Waits, before that.
An old stand-by, Mr. Bungle's California
Grails' Doomsdayer's Holiday
Dead Kennedys' Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables
And earlier than all of these, I finally started developing an ear for Sleepytime Gorilla Museum's In Glorious Times.

Dark and relentless. A great gateway into classical music.

HAWKIND - SPACE RITUAL

I still need to delve deeper into Hawkwinds back catalogue. I have heard bits of it and liked it but theres just so much stuff out there. This was one crossed off today and I'm in love with it. Double live album of space rock/psychedelic goodness.

"You have only a few seconds to escape.
Use those seconds sensibly OR YOU WILL INEVITABLY DIE!" :D

EDIT: I made the cover art bigger but come on, it deserves it.

The Damned- "Machine Gun Etiquette"

My friend had this album playing constantly 3 years ago, and though I liked it at the time I've put off purchasing it until now. The album is honestly one of the top 5 best punk albums ever made. Every song is excellent, there's little to no monotony and filler like most punk albums, the melodies are extremely strong and have a classic, memorable feel to all of them. This is an overlooked gem that every punk/post-punk fan should own.
94/100

This album is putting one big bloody smile on my face. Funky breaks galore. Awesome.

Kieran Hebden & Steve Reid - NYC
Yes yes , funky jazzy electronica has been done to death. But Kieran Hebden being the brains behind Four Tet isn't just some DJ hack just splicing this shit together and he works on this album with Steve Reid , a man who has drummed for the likes of Ornette Coleman & Sun Ra. And his drumming really give this album a proper organic feel that's missing from most of the generic stuff that plague this genre. Wonderful stuff.

Wipers - Youth Of America
This band don't get anywhere near the praise they should. In fact even listening to them today it dawned on me just how much I had forgotten just how good they are.
The title track on this album is phenomenal.

Poison Idea - Dutch Courage
The greatest live album ever recorded by a bunch of fat junkies.

Johnny Thunders - So Alone
I'm not actually digging this album , I'm just mightily fucked off that I can't find the fucking CD anywhere around the house.
