I'm on a Def Jux binge at the moment, this doesn't really break the mould that much but is very good. Very dark hip hop, deals a lot with his messed up childhood, the lyrics aren't as abstract as Aesop or EL-P, but pack a graphic punch.

Excellent production as you'd expect.

Enjoying Terria by Devin Townsend tonight... damn good, epic, loud stuff! How the guy can sound so gentle and brutal in the space of one song always amazes me!

Did you ever do your Buckley comp? I would be interested to see which tracks you choose.

I didn't no. I'm still thinking it would be a good idea I just need to pull my finger out. I tried to do one for someone once and I spent so long over it, deciding what to put in it, what live version of a certain song I should put in it and deliberating over every little detail that by the time I had finished it she had gone out and bought Grace, Sketches and L'Oympia

Not really digging it but my seven year old is inflicting Hanna Montana on me right now... oh the pain! But I love the little girl to pieces, so sometimes that'll make you tolerate anything!

That Miley Cyrus has such a masculine voice I feel. Seriously that chick has a secret penis or she smokes about 60 cigs a day.

She has been to too many second rate bars to watch her dad perform achy breaky heart for drunken older women with mullets... she's bound to have had a ciggie or two...

So were going with the cigs rather than the secret penis?

Well, she does have two identities... so the penis thing is equally valid! Lets go with both!

Since I bought the album, it's been raining consecutively for a week here. Perfect timing. He works with a some great musicians, including his son. I really enjoy the percussion in this one.
