There's a reason IAEOTS is their definitive album.. It's far better than Avery Island. This isn't the James we know and love, I blame the new username. We need the numbers back!

Lol. On Avery Island has Naomi their best song. ITAOTS is far too hipsterfied.

I don't pay any attention to this hipster thing, before I joined MB I didn't even know what one was. Just because a load of twats love it, that doesn't take away how great the album is. 5 star album. I never really took to Avery Island as much.

Hmm, they are both good albums. But OAI is just miles ahead for me.

Also: Crappest band name of all time?

It's more Psychedelic Indie Rock than IAAOTS, IAAOTS is more folky.. and I much prefer that.

Folk is my tied favourite genre, I just think the songs are better quality.

Acid Tweegaze, Shoegaze and "Twee" are a match made in heaven and it's shocking that it hasn't been done loads. Highly recommended, Anybody want a link?

Nice choice man! I just recently discovered this as well, few weeks back. I really like it, that song "Throw Aggi Off The Bridge" is my favourite, it's just the perfect 'twee' song I reckon.

They just released a new compilation with a few more songs than that. There are a couple demo versions and 4 new songs. They had such a short career, but really had more influence than people know. These guys really got shoegaze kickstarted.

It is none other than the Rolling Stones' first album. I've heard some of their other music, it was pretty sweet. I can't get the damn picture, though. Not on what I'm using.

I saw that on their RYM page, i'll try to get my hands on it at one point.

Orange Blossom - Everything Must Change

This was a very pleasant surprise for me today. I don't even know why I downloaded this. I saw a passing recommendation somewhere and knew it was electronic, but that was it. I started playing it and I was hit with an intense mix of electronic music and beautifully sung arabic vocals. This is soo good.

The Fascinating Turnip 06-28-2010 12:57 PM

Rather lo-fi, but they have a rather peaceful, beautiful side to them.

Lucky! I really want to see them. They should do another big tour in The States. Just got into them fairly recently while they were wrapping up their recent States tour.

But yes, it is very amazing. Was blown away from first listen.

I think they'll probably be in the states again soon, they're getting pretty big so moving around the world these days! If they do go back you should definitely see them... I've seen them live about 6 times now, amazing live band, so worth it!

Ok thanks! Seen a few videos of them live and they seem to have tons of energy which is always a good thing.

I constantly find myself throughout the day singing "boo-bop-boo-bop-bop-ba-da-ba-da-ba" from their song 'Janglin'. It's actually so catchyyy. I reccomend this entire album to EVERYONE. It's one of my new faves and it's so relaxing. Go get it. <3

Bardo Pond - Lapsed

Heavily distorted guitars, quiet vocals, and full of lengthy songs that meander beautifully. Trippy as hell, I love it.

I quite like that one too, although a few of the tracks are a wee bit disappointing. On the other hand, some of their best songs that I've heard are on it too. I've a lot of Bardo Pond still to hear yet, though.

I've listened to this album...
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../09/Wctoat.jpg
a few times over the past few years and I always enjoy it. Psychostick is an American comedy-metal band. Give it a listen and you'll find more than a few good laughs. The best tracks imo are "Two Ton Paperweight", "Beer", and "In A Band To Get Chicks".
Listen to it here: Grooveshark - Listen to Free Music Online - Internet Radio - Free MP3 Streaming
If you click the link and it brings you to the Grooveshark home page, just refresh it and it'll bring you to my playlist of the album.
