What do you think of Science Fiction?

it's pretty good. not great, not bad. i think they've definitely done better (deja and devil and god) but they've also done worse (daisy)

there are a few really high quality songs on it though.

I think it's pretty overrated if you ask me. All the good reviews made me pumped but it just sounds like run of the mill emo. Which is never good emo.

Heatwave—Central Heating (1977)
Continuing my recent funk/disco exploration. I really don't think there's a bad song on this album—the whole thing sounds like snorting a ton of blow poolside in Miami, and I mean that in the best way possible. This is sugary, dancey pop, but with an undercurrent of weirdness that really puts it over the top. It doesn't hurt that everyone in the band is a consummate musician.

Oh yeah, and the keyboardist wrote a bunch of Michael Jackson songs, including "Thriller".

Rod Temperton is a genius. He wrote some of Off The Wall's best tracks too. If you like his style, I'd recommend checking out albums like Every Home Should Have One by Patti Austin and Lite Me Up by Herbie Hancock where he's a major writer / co-writer. :)

Thanks for the recommendations. I like Herbie Hancock a lot but have never heard that album so I'm especially curious about that.

I was referring to the album. It's a limited edition pressing for the EP. Only 500 exist.

Oh right! I got it now. Thanks: couldn't figure that out. D'oh! :banghead:

I thought it was a limited edition turntable.

I worded it poorly.
