One Trick Pony, Paul Simon (1980, Warner Bros.)

I forgot this was a movie, too. The album isn't bad. Doesn't have classic numbers like his first two or three releases but it's an intriguing listen.

This is the highlight of their discography for me, and the fact that a minimalist, dark, and pretty experimental track like Ghosts reached #5 in the UK is a testament to their ability.
This is one of my favorite new wave releases of all time. You ever spin this one elph?

PRIVATE LIFE: The Compass Point Sessions Grace Jones (1998, Island)

Great double CD of extended versions of Jones' work with Island label producers Sly & Robbie. If you don't care for Jones' disco period and enjoy dub/ska riddims it's the only album from her you'll ever need.

Relapse 7AM (2020, Cinq music Group)

Follow up to his debut, Sober. Stripped down, synth/drum machine backed R&B grooves with catchy vocal hooks. Shuffle, repeat. Spotify edition

New wave that starts out like the Jesus and Mary Chain and then just gets more and more loopy.
Marie Möör & Barney Wilen

First Light -Makoto Matsush*ta

Been periodically binging this guys stuff for a while and I can honestly say that this is easily the best 80s Japanese OG City Pop album I've heard so far
