I got turned off by their latest release At War With The Mystics and i don't think Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots is all that great either. Would anyone who partially knows my taste think i would like their earlier stuff because i'm curious?

Psychedelic Reggae? Really? A lost classic. It barely sounds like Reggae but rocks my world!

Psychedelic Funk? Really? A lost classic. Does sound like Funk but it's dirty and heavy too.

Enjoying some Kings of Leon tonight, specifically the "Because of the Times" album.... man this thing is just a darn good meaty rock album... I bloody love it! Kicks from start to finish!

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA240_.jpg-Sounds like slayer first album meets DRI and its really heavy and fast and these kids "get it"

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...-_Uroboros.png- Dir en grey All i can really say this is one of the best albums they have made the music sounds very organic dark and they change tempos very often but it all blends together

other then that these are the only 2 albums i bought recently i think ..

i like this song also 2 because of JD LOL

I've been listening to this loads lately. Bush is talented beyond belief.

I discovered this today courtesy of CA - I've listened to it 3 times already. So bizarre yet enticing.

Red Krayola - The Parable of Arable Land
is another of today's discoveries... I saw it mentioned in the requests thread and I was compelled to acquire it by the name alone. Wacky wacky wacky!

Nat Baldwin - MVP

It's been forever since I first saw this guy play, I liked him right off the bat and as I sit here listening to MVP i can safely say nothing's changed, he's still just as amazing as I remember. The music is like contemporary soul, but still has a timeless quality to it.. his key weapons being a standup bass and a beautiful falsetto. I guess he's done work with The Dirty Projectors but I haven't heard any of it.

Sound Of Confusion - Spaceman 3 (1986)
http://i569.photobucket.com/albums/s...5142332009.jpg
My first Spaceman 3 album. If you like The Jesus And Mary Chain, you'll like this. Although honestly I've only heard psychocandy.

Alina - Arvo Part (2000)
http://i569.photobucket.com/albums/s...lina-Front.jpg
A simple but beautiful piano composition by Arvo Part.

Ballad Of The Broken Seas - Isobel Campbell And Mark Lanegan (2006)
http://i569.photobucket.com/albums/s...02LZZZZZZZ.jpg
Melodic and comfortably dark, the mood of this masterpiece will stay throughout the album and longer.

Tempting The Muse - Mysteria (2006)

An artists I found by accident, she sounds like if Dead Can Dance did Gregorian chant.

Nihilist Spasm Band - No Record

just as wacky and off-the-wall, produced about the same time as Red Krayola's stuff but not burdened by the limitations of psychedelia as other avant-garde bands of the time.

Just got back into Bowies Berlin albums.
I can never make my mind up which is the best out of Low and Heroes. I think Low generally 'cause the 'songs' on Heroes are a bit cold sounding.

I discovered this album about 8 or so years ago, and whenever I pick it back up to give it a listen it turns into a marathon run. "How I Do" is the only album Res ever released, which is unfortunate because she has a great voice and her music has a little something that sets it apart from most R&B/soul albums. Her voice can be sultry, sweet, or a little rough, but it always pulls me into the songs and keeps me hooked. Pretty much one of my top albums.
