Children of Telepathic Experiences - Gerling

One of the strangest blends of garage -y rock with raw dance and electronica I've ever heard. Just a damn confusing bipolar sounding album, but it works so god damn well!

I rediscover how much I like them every four months or so, currently doing so again. Fantastic ****.

I love Iron & Wine and I love this album! 'Naked as We Came' is another favourite song of mine off that album. The Shepherd's Dog is another great release from him, as is Around the Well - a B sides and rarities compilation. 'Such Great Heights' is one of my favourite covers.

Just one of the reasons why i believe, despite America's complacency about all things music, that the UK really do rule the roost much more than they're ever given credit for:

That and GBH's City Baby Attacked By Rats are by far my two favourite Hardcore Punk albums. I just find them much more aggressive and tighter than most American Hardcore Punk at that time. Then the N.Y Hardcore scene hit back in 85-86 with some storming bands.

He is incredibly hit and miss live, I saw him at an event called Warehouse Project in manchester and was awasum Dropped so much quality hip hop and even dropped rage. I was Mightly impressed although I had taken a hell of alot of Pills so id have been impressed by anything with a beat

Went to see him at Glasto about a year later and all he seemed to play was cheesy 80's tracks and random scratching over dross.

As for Fabric Live its a good CD, The scratch Perverts one which again is mostly hip hop with a few other bits thrown in is much better though. Its even got The National Anthem (RAdiohead) in there at some point.

The whole series is pretty good to be honest, other faves include Caspa and Rusco and The Herbaliser.

Yep, the Scratch Perverts one is beyond amazing. That whole section of the mix you're talking about is crazy.
It's like:

Dead Prez - Hip Hop
Scratch Perverts - Stand By
DJ Shadow - GDMFSOB
Rocker - Alter Ego
Ian Brown - Time Is My Everything
Radiohead - Nation Anthem
Pendulum - Pack of Wolves

Good call on the Herbaliser one as well. Best part of that one is the old school funk mixed in with the modern hip-hop. You'll be noddin' your head to a cool beat, then all of a sudden Jackson 5 or James Brown will blend in, and you're just like, "Awww jeez!"

The DJ shadow track featuring Roots Manuva is pretty special, love the Ian Brown Remix as well. the whole album is just unreal. Its one of the albums that got me rap and dance music to be honest. Beofre hearing that I was a bit of an indie snob. From the opening Guitar it just hit me like a ton of bricks.

I love the James Brown track on that Herbaliser Cd. I do think it tails off towards the end though but yea its a good pre night out cd that one.
