I mean, not weak or boring as in bad, just weak and boring compared to the plethora of sicker bands

Cloud Nothings - Life Without Sound

http://cdn4.pitchfork.com/albums/243...e.ebf6ad5b.jpg

i was scared for this after hearing the first few singles, but it's actually pretty rad. the production is a little overbearing in comparison to their previous two releases and it lacks a little in intensity, but beyond that it's a ton of fun and i can dig it for what it is. it's hard to live up to the expectations they've built, but it's a solid addition to their discography regardless.

War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream (2014)
(Dream Pop, Indie Rock, Heartland Rock, Americana)

Being on the Red House Painters/Americana kick I've been on lately, this band has been a gift from the heavens. Holy **** I love it.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 01-28-2017 08:06 AM

i hate dream pop but i remember really digging that when it was released

Why do you hate dream pop?

The Batlord 01-28-2017 08:47 AM

I have no opinion on dream pop but I hate how every indie twat who doesn't want people to think they're a generic hipster says they like dream pop. I also think it's one of the worst genre names ever. Just say "dream pop" out loud. Isn't it awful?

Goofle 01-28-2017 08:50 AM

^ Speaking of bad genre titles...

Litku Klemetti - Juna Kainuuseen (2017)

Incredibly fun Indie Pop record from Finland. Obviously I have no idea what she's saying, but that doesn't matter one bit. In fact, it probably helps considering how corny lyrics in this genre can be (or any, if we are honest). Highly recommend.

Listening to it now. Yeah. It lacks that balls to the f*cking wall intensity from Hear and Nowhere else but it's still very enjoyable.

AFI - The Blood Album (2017)

With everyone at this forum pretending to love the indie wankery they pretend to call music, it's nice to get an actual solid rock album that delivers as well as it can. AFI have always been a wild card for me since I've always liked them but never listened. The new album is quite good.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 01-29-2017 03:42 PM

i really liked AFI when i was in grade 6

They were a really solid skate punk band up until Black Sails but I like pretty much everything they did to an extent up until and including Decemberunderground.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 01-29-2017 03:44 PM

theyre pretty meh imo but decemberunderground has a few catchy tracks. i actually think i still have an AFI tshirt somewhere.

That's not even close to what I meant, but thanks for proving my point that everyone here likes to masturbate over music that can't even be considered music.

I expected this from Frownland but not from you. You at least admit that you listen to ****ty music.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 01-29-2017 04:33 PM

i listen to all sorts of music, some you might find ****ty and some you might love. at the end of the day it's all music.

in short form: frownland's music is just as music as your music

In high school I put this on a burned CD of random punk and it's still one of my favs.
