Okay, so maybe it won't appeal to everyone! What in particular did you not like about it?

I can't criticize the particulars because I don't like the style in general.
Pop-punk and such doesn't agree with me. I only piped up because of my interest in Daughters. The breakup of Daughters is how heard of Fang island in the first place so I'm in no place to criticize, but I dislike FI so much compared to any Daughters releases that the band is interesting to me.

David Sylvian - Secrets Of the Beehive

I love this album to pieces. One of the finest albums it's been my pleasure to get hold of in recent months - it's an interesting little album that you can't really stick a coherent genre label on. Kinda melancholy baroque pop with some new wave and folk-rock thrown in. Perfect music for this time of morning too (it's pretty early over here, at least by my standards).

The gold standard of East Coast rap. My favorites; Triumph, Older Gods, Bells of War, and Duck Seazon.

Squeeze-45s and Under
Doing as last.fm orders me and furthering my love of New Wave pop music.Really like this lot, although Cool For Cats is completely aytpical. They're much more along the lines of XTC or Joe Jackson than the Ian Dury comparisons that track would bring to mind. This here would be much more representative.

I loooove this album and prefer it to anything the Cure ever released. It's been getting a load of listening lately.

I've barely explored the realm of ingenuous French pop and so this is a novel experience for me.

This is very surprising to me. I really dug their more complex, experimental take on the standard indie rock/pop (even pop punk) sound. I couldn't find anything to dislike about it.

I have not yet listened to Daughters (though I downloaded their latest), but from what I've heard about them they sound like they're quite a bit different from Fang Island.

I'll have to give that album a listen.

Lot's of classics live and some good old Townes humor in between songs.

Systems Officer - Underslept

This is the debut solo album from Zach Smith, one half of Pinback (bass, shared vocal and song writing duties) and also bassist for Three Mile Pilot (prior to the formation of Pinback, and recently reunited). I got it when it came out last October, but it's a grower and I've only played it a few times so far. I liked a few songs from the get-go, but the rest are starting to click. It really shows how important he is to Pinback, not that Rob Crow isn't also. I think Rob tends to get more credit buit it's clear when listening to their individual music that they bring equal parts to the table.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
