The Divine Comedy were genius, and what voice. Though they did have their 15 minutes of fame here, it seems for the most part they have been forgotten these days.

It's folk punk, but it has so much more interesting influences, world and country and everything and it's really good.

It's impossible for me not to dig a Hold Steady album.

This is just as good as A House With No Home, possibly even better, I have to give it a few more listens to decide

The man's work in the latter part of the 70s overshadows the earlier stuff like this for me, so I guess that must have something or other to do with it.

I actually prefer his early 70's work, myself...and that album is pure gold. There was a while when all I really wanted to listen to was "The Man Who Sold the World", "Hunky Dory", and "Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust".

I've been digging this one at work, quite a bit:

Al Green - Lay it Down (2008)

One could argue that it's not as strong as the good ole' days, but there are a few songs that I just can't get enough of on here...like this one:

How could you not move to that??

Number one on my cardio workout music. Fast and to the point. Music for my short attention spam moments.

Lansing-Dreiden - A Sectioned Beam

I finally downloaded this EP recently, second listen this week. And I dig it. It's always hard for me to describe this band's sound. Poppy, dreamy, spacey, 60s and 80s influence, maybe a touch of shoegaze, F if I know. Mostly just beautiful pop. I just like their sound. Soothing vocals and melodies.

This DK album seems to get a lot of hate but I really enjoy it. Perhaps it's because it was one of the first DK albums I heard, back when my young mindset, when blindly buying an album, was "what album has the most songs for the least amount of money?". My favourites are probably 'Cesspool in Eden', 'One-Way Ticket to Pluto' and 'Do The Slag'. All in a row too.

Rod Modell w/ Kevin Hanton - Illuminati Audio Science

Rod Modell makes some pretty awesome minimalist dub techno in his lonesome, and with Hanton on board the result is just as good as always. 66 minutes of illustrious, flowing beats. Not everyones cup of tea I am sure, but for those who enjoy the music it is well worth checking out the album (And the artist). Ridiculously deep. Great background music.

The best glitch-hop album ever. Where it all began for me.
