No, actually. Sketches of Spain was one of the more accessible Miles Davis albums. I try to treat them all the same, but Gil Evans really added quite a bit to it. A good album nonetheless (or moreover?).

lol shall check it out then... it's funny i got started with Miles on Bitches Brew so it gave me a taste for jazz fusion; consequently found it difficult to get into 'best jazz LP of all time'; Kind Of Blue... then came Sun. We need to get some lists going in the jazz forum.

anywayz. Here's some stuff worth checking out. Will stake my non-existent reputation on it :D

Probably the most underrated math-rock album ever.

Klang - No Sound Is Heard
Donna Matthews of Elastica does minimalistic Krautrock with her new band. Her vocal delivery even sounds like Damo Suzuki.

Pornosect - ...Of Vibrations, Resonances and Divine Things
Three cheers for the token appearence of a random abrasive noise album that I put on once in a while to up my credibility.

The Horizontalist - Hybird
Posthumously released solo E.P. by Mary Hanson from Stereolab

Xhol Caravan - Electrip
Possibly the greatest Krautrock / Psychedelia album I have heard this week.
Just mental.

lucifer_sam 09-24-2008 02:03 PM

You're such a sucker for Krautrock, Urb.

Bo-o-ring.
