An amazing album, the opening number is worth it alone. Probably my favorite Wes Montgomery recording. I'm always a sucker for jazz albums recorded live in the clubs, I love the sound of the clinking silverware and glasses.

Jazz at the Pawnshop is something for you then.
(and it's considered the best sounding jazz recording ever made).

Downloading your recommendation by the way.
Sounds good on youtube

Not as good as Satanic Panic In The Attic, but a pretty strong record nonetheless.

Never heard of it, but I'll definitely check it out.

The music itself isn't all that interesting.
It's recorded in a little bar in Denmark.
But the atmosphere and the depth in the recording are incredible.

Two new additions to mine library

7 Sufjan Stevens songs from 3 different albums expertly remixed with songs from various rappers (Aesop Rock, Outkast, Gift of Gab, etc)? Hellllzzzz ya. I was really taken aback by this album-the remixing is simple, but it works incredibly well. I'd recommend to anyone who likes Sufjan Stevens, rap, or remixes. Or all three.

Got this cause... you know. It's really good. Almost really really good. I feel like there's something about Kanye's music that's stopping me from absolutely loving it, but I've already listened to it a couple times and I've enjoyed it more every time so maybe that will change. Overall a very worthwhile addition to a collection. I think I'll have to listen to it a couple more times before choosing favorites, but Monster and Blame Game are both great.

edit: almost forgot, Illinoize is available for free (legal) download too. Nice so you don't have to worry about finding a good link. http://www.tormusic.net/

My goodness I must be missing out on something.
Everybody likes that Kanye West album.
To me it sounds like all other Rap... R&B... Hiphop... Hell I don't even know what it is.
Can anyone explain to me what's different? I guess I won't like it, but I'd like to understand what it's all about.

Dream Theater - When Dream and Day Unite (1989)

I know what people think of Dream Theater around here, but even some of you stalwarts should give their Labrie-less debut a try..because this bitch knows how to thrash without getting boring, and is definitely more interesting than much of the band's later material. Grainier too, which makes it a minor cult classic in my book!

Brother Ape - A Rare Moment Of Insight (2010)

My favorite drum n' bass/progressive rock hybrid band just upped the ante for AOTY contendees. What a sound! These guys just get better and better with every release it seems, and this particular record has knocked my goddamn block off.

Urgh... that Dream Theater album cover is so awkward...

Never judge....a book by it's cover? :afro:

I always judge music by the cover. If I want to become familiar with an artist a lot of times I'll just start off with the album that has the most interesting cover art. Sort of a bad habit I guess. Surprisingly though, it often leads me in the right direction.
