Kno- Death Is Silent

I'm not sure if I already posted about how much I dig this album, but it's by far and away my favorite rap release of the year, brilliant production as expected, but incredible lyrics and great flow.

Played this for the first time in ages today and it generally holds up really well. Great band. Not as good as Low End Theory but still damn good.

The Third Eye Foundation - Ghost (1997)

It has been a long time since I last heard Third Eye Foundation, mostly on the radio, tracks from Ghost and You Guys Kill Me. This is the first time I actually listened to full album and I must say music is even better than I remember it. This electronic/drum 'n' bass project is actually Matt Elliott, an ex-member of Flying Saucer Attack, worked with Amp, active in the Bristol scene of the 90s etc. This is a brilliant album, haunting samples, noise, drum 'n' bass and jungle beats (or drill 'n' bass?)...Everything is put together with such a seamless flow, lots of layers of sound, dense texture that will take many listens to fully grasp everything. But regardless, like I said, this album flows so naturally and the hook for me is that it's frightening and beautiful at the same time.

Here's a taste:
