I had an urge to listen to some retro 80's Synth-Pop. "Lexicon of Love" is amazing. The Thompson Twins were a surprise and is a particularly strong effort.

Ah, 80s synth pop! I'm on the hunt lately for more minimal synth music, or synth-punk. It's just so catchy, I can't stop listening to it. Maybe I'll make a mix.

I'm going to eventually check that out, too! I got the follow-up "Beauty Stab", which is completely different than "Lexicon". It's good, but much more guitar and hard rock oriented.

Penthouse & Pavement appears to be missing from this picture.

Both of Cage The Elephant's albums. Yes, they're eclectic and oddly placed... But it's all so awesome, and just makes me want to mosh. That is a good thing.

I recommend The Luxury Gap.

OMD's Dazzle Ships, though not entirely synth-pop "songs", is an essential album in this genre

also Depeche Mode's Black Celebration

and also the Human League's Reproduction and Travelogue

Yeah it's pretty much awesome. Codex, Give Up the Ghost, and Lotus Flower are some of the best Radiohead songs ever. The boys have done it again.
