Madlib is a genius, some of the best production and sampling I've ever heard on an album.

Really getting into Speak For Yourself by Imogen Heap atm. It's such a relaxing album. Really recommend if you're looking for some laid-back electronic ambient stuff I guess?

Huge thanks to CanwllCorfe for discovering this, it's quickly becoming one of my favorite albums for spacing out on overcast days or just relaxing in my room alone

No problem! :D And I agree. It's fantastic stuff.

Deftones -Diamond Eyes
I think this record is full of emotions and images, makes me actually feel someting besides wanted to nod my head

Smashing Pumpkins- Siamese Dream
Nostalgic and almost innocent, one of those records I feel lucky to have been alive to grow along with it

Glassjaw- Everything You Have Ever Wanted To Know About Silence
I remember hearing it for the first time and hating it, then picking it up a few months later out of boredom and realizing something. Almost like it had planted a seed in my head that needed to grow. The lyrics can be so intense.

DKLIMB- Defy. Define. Definition
Just one of those albums that feels like a complete journey from start to end. Hold my attention span, kind of has a gritty feel to me

I forgot how many good singles Urban Legend had on it.

So, I have been listening to it a lot lately.

You mean Interpol's discography?
I already made the mistake long ago.
But that album has stood the test of time, which is impressive.
In fact, I like it now more so than I did a few years ago.

Sorry,

If you liked the really poppish side to this, check out the Sunlandic Twins. If you liked to quirky experimental side go with Skeletal Lamping. If you want a balance of both then it's Hissing Fauna. All are really great albums.

I really don't know wtf Kevin Barnes was thinking with False Priest, though. What a lame album.

I find their inability to produce coherent time signatures and collective rhythm beguiling. To me it just sounds like a bunch of disconnected sounds fizzing and bouncing around in a small space, contstantly colliding into one another. Theres also something about the tuning of that cheap guitar that I find irresistable. And then theres the honesty of the lyrics and the general naivety of it all. A great outsider music album.
