Птица (Bird):

By the Russian band АукцЫон (Auction). There is a nervousness in this album that reminds me a lot of Talking Heads. Similar to Talking Heads in Remain in Light, АукцЫон turns to somewhat unusual musical inspirations in this album. I think I hear a lot of Russian folk sounds, most notably captured by a number of brass instruments (trumpet, tuba, etc.) Sometimes the backing band gives off this strange Oom-pah/Ska hybrid vibe, but it isn't so weird that it distracts me. This album would definitely be considered genre-bending in my book. Something about it also reminds me of Tom Waits, but I haven't been able to put my finger on that yet. Something darkly perverse I guess?

Thanks to doctorsoft. Great split, liked both bands on it.

I think BastardofYoung was sent to MB by the gods for one reason:

To get me back into When the Kite String Pops by Acid Bath.
One of my favorite albums and I haven't heard it in years.
I almost forgot how much I love this. Thank you, Bastard.

hey, glad to be of a help. thank you sir!. Great album, as is the follow up "Pegan Terrorism Tactics"... a shame they did not release at least one more... but I understand why not, honoring a member who died. Had he not, I think they could of reached much higher heights. But they still put out 2 great albums.. so not all was lost.

still my favorite by them:

Have you listened to any of Dax Rigg's bands? Agents of Oblivion, deadboy & the elephantmen..

Deadboy and Dax solo I've heard. Nothing like Acid Bath to me though (I mean nowhere near as good).
I prefer the heavy heaviness.

Creep on Creepin' on by Timber Timbre

Ian E Coleman wrote a review about it and let's just say it hooked me enough to buy it. I probably listened to it the rest of the night. I can't even pick a favorite because each song flows so well in order that if you dissect a couple, it's all out of whack. So thanks Ian.
