*Shels - Plains of the Purple Buffalo

Gorgeous post-rock album, washed with horns and strings.

Koto - Masterpieces

I discovered this music accidentally. I was searching youtube to hear what "Koto" sounded like (it's an instrument in Japanese classical music) and I ended up on this Italian synth music. Totally out of synch with anything else that I listen to, so it was a really cool accidental discovery for me. Try this and tell me you don't love it! So catchy.

The Wipers - Over the Edge

A bonified classic right here. I personally prefer it to Youth of America, but I know others will disagree strongly.

Basement Jaxx - Scars (2009)

Listening to this just makes me happy, plain and simple. The other day, I was at the gym, listening to this album on repeat, and "Raindrops" came on, and suddenly I found myself hiking uphill on the treadmill with a huge grin on my face. I'm sure I looked retarded to anyone who might be looking, but who cares? I love to smile and that song just does it for some reason. Other top tracks are "Scars", "She's No Good", and "Day of the Sunflowers (We March On)". Awesome, fun, feel good stuff.

Grails- Black Tar Prophecies.

This album was a bit of a turning point in my musical discoveries or at least a marker. It took my tastes to a whole new level of understanding concerning contemporary music and combining of genres, or rather the casting aside of all genres in the name of music.

Look up this album and give it a try.

The Fool by Warpaint

It's an all girl band, they're sound is so smokey and grungy...i really like them. Kinda sounds like old school RHCP. Definitely worth a listen.

The Fugees - The Score

I wish Lauryn Hill had more solo albums, she is amazingly talented.

My intensity is usually derived through Metal bands but I really think that this pisses all most of those bands. As for Punk music? Not a chance when put next to this. Only Poison Idea come close.

This is probably the most ferocious album I have ever heard yet it is controlled aggression. Effing superb.

Makes any punk before and most since sound like a jaunty trip along a beach:

This album just gets better and better the more times you hear it and for an Englishman to admit that we were not the only ones doing Punk that is something
