It's their best, a classic, and one of my favourite albums full stop.

Just checked out Boxer today, first listen to the National too. I'm very impressed, wished I checked them out sooner!

OSI - Fire Make Thunder (2012)

I'm enjoying this album a lot more than I thought I would. There's nothing particularly new about it, it's a blend of riffy alternative rock/metal with a slight electronic variation. It's very reminiscent of the last few Porcupine Tree albums, Fear of a Blank Planet (2007) being the most obvious influence. Despite that, the album has no real glaring faults, it just kind of does its own thing well enough to pass the time and has a few memorable songs that you might still care about 6-months from now.

Lower Dens - Nootropic.

Been waiting for this for a while, and I've finally got my hands on a leak. Initial opinion is positive; it's a sonically adventurous indie album that encompasses Krautrock, ambient and post-punk influences. There's a droney, shoegazing quality to it too, which always goes down well with me.

Here's my single of the year thus far;

It's absurd how much better this is than I remember it. The best album I've re"discovered" in a loooooong time.

Cursive - The Ugly Organ
An old favourite. Celebrating the fact I am seeing them live soon. What an album.

Kendrick Lamar - Section.80
This is amazing. So much better than I expected.

This is a mini classic. A perfect marriage between 80's synth Pop and the German predeliction for electronic experimentation. It's a cold, regimented presentation of how far Pop music can push itself in terms of accessibility.

Really been enjoying Anathema a lot, specifically this album:

Some incredible doom on that album. I highly recommend it.
