Glaciers by Blue Sky Black Death

Sorry for the size couldnt find a smaller one :\ but this is likely in my top 10 of the year good lord. BSBD is probably my fav instrumental hip hop artist and this new one is heavenly. Wonderful stuff.

It's a good size. And a good looking album cover.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Mail the Horse - Great Kills (2012)
I don't recall how I discovered this band, especially since it's been several months that I first added this to my wishlist. They don't have much of a following (an understatement with 55 listeners on last.fm). And considering, this is surprisingly good. Some tracks bring to mind "Salt of the Earth" type Rolling Stones (particularly "Dance Alone"), others bring to mind early Elton John as well. I could probably safely describe it as Country Rock genre, though being modern some might call it indie folk/rock with a splash of Americana.

Took me awhile to ease into it, but it seems like the only record I find myself listening too lately. Miles ahead of Section .80 in terms of production and Kendrick's general flow. I'm digging this a lot.

I'm totally obsessed with the Blow's new self titled album. It's the most interesting album I've heard in a couple of years... It's low-fi electronica with elaborate Brian Wilson type choral arrangements. I play the album over and over with the volume on 11.

Ooohhhhh, I totally missed this release! Really dug that track, I'm going to get my hands on this asap. I went through a really heavy Paper Television phase - how do you think it compares?

I'm going through the giant mound of scraps of paper on which I write notes to myself reminding me to check out bands or grab albums and Jay Reatard was on one of them. I've been listening to a lot of R Stevie Moore/ Ariel Pink lately and Jay Reatard has a (mildly) similar feel. I think I prefer him to Ariel Pink, actually, but then again I'm only one album in. We shall see.

This is the album that really got me into Bob Marley and reggae in general when I was a young'n. Still have it after all these years and still jamming to it.This This is the Wailers in their prime. All the old late 60's early 70s raw cuts and takes of some wicked smooth reggae riffs.

I always have times where I listen to this album constantly then stop for a little while then go back. It never gets old.
